Second Team
Forward: Cameron Cote, Ventura Vikings/Lake Tahoe Lakers
Cote (’04/Chandler, Ariz.) played a total of 38 games this season, and finished with a strong run of six goals and nine points in six games with Lake Tahoe to close the 2024-25 season. For the full season, he scored 32 goals and added 31 assists for 63 points, an average of 1.66 points per game. This was Cote’s second season, having put up eight points in 25 regular season games last year. His 12 power play goals were tied for fourth in the league.
Jose-Jasmir Guseff, Lake Tahoe Lakers
Guseff (’04/Helsinki, Finland) continued the successful trend of Finnish players jumping to the USPHL Premier in 2024-25 and seeing outstanding results. In 41 games with the Lakers, Guseff registered 35 goals and 43 assists for 78 points, averaging 1.90 points per game, the second best average on the Lakers behind First Team selection Brian Erte (1.93). Guseff’s six shorthanded goals on the season was also tied for second most in the Premier this year.
Sam Bailey, San Diego Sabers
Bailey (’05/Escondido, Calif.) joined the Sabers this year along with fellow NA3HL teammate Caleb Murray, and Bailey just had a dynamite first USPHL Premier season. He scored 40 goals and added 48 assists for 88 points in 46 games, giving him a 1.91 points per game average for the season. Bailey was also part of the USPHL Premier All-Star Event, where he was a proud representative of the Sabers in both of the Pacific/Northwest/Canada Division’s team. His four shorthanded goals this year put him into the top 10 in that category league-wide.
Defense
Chayce Tuton, Lake Tahoe Lakers
Tuton made the long trip from Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, to Lake Tahoe and might have gotten more mileage out of the move on the ice than on the road. He posted 14 goals, good for Top 20 in the Premier, and also added 26 assists for 40 points in his second overall junior season. As a 2006-born player, with two years of eligibility remaining, he certainly is on pace for a strong overall career.
Carver Alford, Lake Tahoe Lakers
Alford is a local product from directly in South Lake Tahoe, a product of Tahoe Prep Academy who completed his second season with the Lakers with a career-best 14 goals and 40 assists for 54 points in 40 games, ranking fourth in the Premier among defensemen. The 2005-born blueliner more than doubled the 26 points he registered in 2023-24. He enjoyed a goal and six assists for seven points in a single Oct. 13 game performance. Alford also saw two games up with the NCDC’s Pueblo Bulls this year – USPHL Advancement In Action!
Goaltender
Nicholas Perry, Henderson Force
It isn’t easy for goalies in the offense-heavy Pacific Division, but Perry (’05/Chino Hills, Calif.) always put the Force into a position to win, thanks to his .920 save percentage and 2.79 goals against average, with his save percentage ranking second in the division behind only First Team Selection Brooks Barofsky, of Fresno.
Selection Process: Coaches in the division first nominate players, and then vote on these nominations. If there are ties in positions, there is an additional run-off vote. Coaches are presented with the finalists and given more than 24 hours to make changes if the majority votes to do so. If there are no challenges to the finalists, they are named as the All-Division Team.
