USPHL Premier Canada Division Players Of The Month: February 2025

Forwards: 

Charlie Olmsted, Collège Universel Gatineau

Olmsted (‘05/Pontiac, Que.) scored four goals and added 11 assists for 15 points in six games, averaging 2.50 points per game. He finished the season by scoring two points or more in each of his seven games back to Jan. 31. He scored 44 points in 41 games this season. 

 

Gabriel Boivin, Universel Sherbrooke 

Boivin (‘08/Beloeil, Que.) registered three goals and nine assists for 12 points during Sherbrooke’s six games of February. The junior rookie put up 51 points in 40 games. 

 

Dylan Perron, Montreal Black Vees 

Perron (‘06/St-Jean-sur-Richelieu) was hugely generous with the puck, sending out 13 assists and adding three goals for 16 points in 10 games. After scoring 39 points in 39 games, he would go on to three goals and an assist in his first playoff game. 

 

Forward Honorable Mention: Thomas St-Louis, Collège Universel Gatineau

 

Defense

Jasmin Tremblay, Montreal Black Vees 

Tremblay (‘05/Barraute, Que.) joined in January and was all over the scoresheet in February, posting six goals and seven assists for 13 points in 10 games and finished the regular season with 14 points. In his first playoff game for Montreal, he rang up three assists as well. 

 

Danick Lalonde, Hawkesbury Knights

Lalonde (‘06/Gatineau, Que.) posted five assists during the five games he played during February as he helped the Knights to a strong first year performance. He finished with 17 points in 34 games in his first junior season. 

 

Defense Honorable Mention: Jayden Corson, Universel Sherbrooke 

 

Goaltender 

Nathan Rutter-Richardson, Montreal Black Vees 

Rutter-Richardson (‘06/Rockland, Ont.) won all seven of his games during the month of February, stopping 198 of 213 shots in the process. This included a 45-save shutout on Feb. 20 against Somang L-L Hockey. He finished with a 19-4-1-1 record. 

 

Goaltender Honorable Mention: George Foti, Hawkesbury Knights

 

Selection Process: The division’s coaches are presented with a ballot form with statistical leaders (ranked by points per game average for skaters and save percentage for goaltenders) and vote on that form. The league takes the results of that vote and presents the coaches with the finalists, who are able to vote on further changes if desired.
