USPHL Premier North Division Players Of The Month: November 2024

Forwards

Cannon Bonifay, Minnesota Squatch

Bonifay (‘04/Fort Worth, Texas) earns his second consecutive Player of the Month nomination with an 11-game points streak beginning on Oct. 19. In November, he scored 17 goals and had seven assists for an impressive 24 points across nine games with the Minnesota Squatch. Bonifay has scored 71 goals and posted 62 assists in his two seasons with the Squatch. He is the points leader for the Squatch this season and is the all-time goals scorer and points leader for the franchise with an average 2.25 points per game. 

 

Cyril Valach, Minnesota Mullets

Another player with back-to-back Player of the Month nominations, Valach (‘04/Moravske Budejovice, Czechia) continued to be a playmaker in every game he played with the Minnesota Mullets this season. On an 18-game points streak, Valach put up six goals and seven assists this month and is climbing the ranks in the franchise, currently leading in points for the Mullets this season. 

 

Jay Ellingson, Minnesota Squatch

Ellingson (‘05/Maple Grove, Minn.) kicked off his season in November, posting points in all seven games he played to help the Minnesota Squatch tie for first in the division with the Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings at the end of November. He has five goals and 12 assists so far this season, with a career total of 121 points over three seasons with the Squatch.

 

Forward Honorable Mention: Preston Lundbohm, Northwest Express

Defensemen

Connor Corcoran, Northwest Express

Blueliner Corcoran (‘05/Haverhill, Mass.) is the second highest points scorer for the Northwest Express this season. It’s a well-earned second consecutive Player of the Month nomination for Corcoran, who put up five goals and 14 assists in November to help the team win six of nine games over the month. In his rookie season in the Premier, Corcoran has 39 points with nine goals and 30 assists across 23 games played. 

 

Eli Underhill, Northwest Express

Underhill (‘05/Chicago) is also in his first Premier season with the Northwest Express, earning the November Player of the Month nomination for his 14 points made this month. In 17 games played this season, he has seven goals and 17 assists to his name. 

 

Defense Honorable Mention: Jacob Bodin, Minnesota Squatch

Goaltender

Guillaume Turcot, Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings

Turcot (‘06/Quebec) is 4-2-0-1 this season, winning two of three games he played in November to help the Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings tie for first in the North Division at the end of the month. In his first Premier season, Turcot has a .907 save percentage.

 

Goaltender Honorable Mention: Charles Healey, Isanti Outlaws

 

Selection Process: The division’s coaches are presented with a ballot form with statistical leaders (ranked by points per game average for skaters and save percentage for goaltenders) and vote on that form. The league takes the results of that vote and presents the finalists to the coaches, who are able to vote on further changes if desired.
