Forwards
Niko Schoner, Nashville Spartans
Schoner (‘02/Bloomingdale, Ill.) has been a huge hit in a city that has produced a hit or two. Since first stepping foot in the Spartans locker room, he has put together 31 points in 16 games. He matched his first two months’ output in November alone putting up 11 goals and four assists for 15 points to give him his current total. No one else in the Southeast matched his 2.14 points per game average. Schoner has missed the scoring column on the scoresheet only twice this season, and he has already racked up two hat tricks this year.
Hunter Berry, Charlotte Rush
The ‘02 from Colleyville, Texas, has certainly found his groove, clicking for a 4-7-11 line in just five games over the course of November, averaging a division-best 2.2 points per game. His biggest game last month was a 2-3-5 performance on Nov. 13 against Potomac, but even that was eclipsed earlier this season by a 3-3-6 game on Sept. 10. He will carry his four-game 11-point scoring streak into December as well. Berry has long since blown past the 16 points he posted in 24 games last year with his previous team.
Garrett McCabe, Richmond Generals
The Generals are currently tied for third in points in the league, with 37 off an 18-4-1-0 record. After a very busy September and October, November was a little quieter for Richmond. That didn’t stop the veteran McCabe (‘03/London, Ont.) from producing at a scary rate. He put up three goals and seven assists for 10 points in just four contests, all W’s for the Gens. He posted a 2-1-3 mark against Charlotte on Nov. 6 including a shorthanded goal and the game-winner. He also had a 2-2-4 game against the defending National Champion Rockets Hockey Club on Nov. 13. He has 26 points on 10 games this year and hit the career 1.00 point per game average of 63 in 63 in that final November match as well.
Defense
Dylan Ray, Charlotte Rush
The ‘02 from Long Beach, N.Y., has doubled his points total from 2021-22, going from 10 last year to 20 on this season. Helping in this feat was a six-point performance over his five games in November. All of his points came as part of a four-game point streak from Nov. 5-13. Defensively, he joined teammate Hunter Berry in getting a +8 rating out of the month, which led the entire Southeast Division.
Kameron Williams, Richmond Generals
Williams repeats here as he scored points in all four games for the Generals to help keep them third in the entire USPHL Premier – and against tough competition in the ever-powerful Charlotte Rush and the defending National Champion Rockets Hockey Club. Four up, four down and all wins. He carries a 2-3-5 scoring streak into December, having posted those points in all four games. Defensively, he was a +4 for November. He has 18 points in 23 games this year, and 33 points in 60 career Premier games.
Goaltender
D.J. Lyons, Nashville Spartans
The busiest goaltender in the division also had the best save percentage for any Southeast goalie with more than 180 minutes played. A hearty USPHL veteran with USPHL Nationals experience (he was in net for the Charleston Colonials in the 2021 USPHL Elite National Championship game), Lyons finished with a 4-1-0-0 record and a .937 save percentage for November. After struggling in his first game of the month against Atlanta, he rebounded to stop all but one of 30 shots against the MadHatters the very next day. He went on to play all three games against the Jersey Hitmen as they visited Nashville, and helped the Spartans to a sweep that included a 30-save shutout in the middle game.
