USPHL Premier Players Of the Week: Midwestern Region

Games of Dec. 3-9, 2024

Forward: Angelo Massaro, Dells Ducks 

Massaro (‘04/Palatine, Ill.) scored points in all three games for the Dells Ducks this week, putting up three goals and eight assists. Massaro has 68 career points across two seasons with the Ducks, with 31 goals and 37 assists. 

 

Defense: Tyler Hadfield, Steele County Blades 

Hadfield (‘04/Benson, Minn.) scored one goal and registered two assists for the Steel County Blades. The blueliner is a veteran for the Blades, playing in his third Premier season and is the highest scoring defenseman for the franchise in 2024-25. He’s played in 82 games and has 47 career points. 

 

Goaltender: Deaken Shaw, Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings 

Shaw (‘06/West Valley City, Utah) secured a win for the Riverkings with a 33-save shutout against the Minnesota Blue Ox. Shaw is 9-1-0-0 in his first Premier season with a 9.345 save percentage. This is his third shutout. 

 

Great Lakes Division 

Forward: Dalton Zulka, Columbus Mavericks 

Zulka (‘04/Pittsburgh, Penn.) scored two goals and had two assists to help the Columbus Mavericks win their game on Dec. 7. Zulka has played 78 games over three seasons with the Mavericks. He has 29 career points. 

 

Defense: Jake Taylor, Metro Jets 

Taylor’s (‘05/Macomb, Mich.) three assists and defensive work helped the Metro Jets go 3-0 this week. The blueliner is in his third Premier season and creeping toward his centennial game, standing at 98 career games. He has 70 career points (21 goals; 49 assists). 

 

Goaltender: Lukas Kamenicky, Columbus Mavericks 

Kamenicky (‘06/Vrchlabí, Czechia) ended the week with a .971 save percentage after playing in the Columbus Mavericks’ Dec. 7 game against the MJDP. He had 33 saves on 34 shots in the game. In his rookie season, Kamenicky has an overall .890 save percentage with 10 games played.

Midwest Division

Forward: Spencer Kauke, Chicago Crush 

Kauke (‘05/Rockford, Ill.) helped the Chicago Crush go 3-0 this week with three goals and four assists. He registered two assists in his 100th career game on Dec. 7 and scored the game winning goal on Dec. 6. Kauke has three Premier seasons under his belt, with 70 career points (26 goals; 44 assists).

 

Defense: Cyler Brogle, Chicago Crush 

On the defenseman side for Chicago Crush, Brogle (‘04/Glen Ellyn, Ill.) registered three points in one goal and two assists this week. Brogle has played 80 games across three seasons with the Crush, with 38 career points. 

 

Goaltender: Evan Peacock, Metro Jets Development Program  

Peacock (‘05/Carmel, Ind.) registered a .966 save percentage in the MJDP’s win against the Motor City Gamblers on Dec. 4. He had 28 saves on 29 shots for a 1.00 goals against average. Peacock is in his rookie season with the Premier league.

Selection Process: Divisional statistical leaders are presented to coaches, who are able to vote on the leaders, or nominate and vote on alternate candidates.
