USPHL Premier Players Of The Week: Northeast Region

Week of Sept. 18, 2024

Atlantic Division

Forward: Justin Morrissey, P.A.L. Jr. Islanders

The last time we saw Justin Morrissey (‘06/Patchogue, N.Y.) he was a USPHL Elite Atlantic Division All-Star. He wasted no time in making his name known in the  Premier. He posted two goals and added one assist for three points in the Jr. Isles’ opening 6-5 defeat against the Rockets Hockey Club.

Defense: Carter Jolly, Rockets Hockey Club

Jolly (‘06/Wall Township, N.J.) joined the Rockets from the Philadelphia Flyers Elite THF 18U team as well as Wall High School. Jolly put up an assist and helped the Rockets to an important first win of the season. His assist broke the first P.A.L. lead and helped the Rockets eventually turn the game around for a win.

Goaltender: Logan Pastorius, Rockets Hockey Club

Pastorius (‘06/South Fayette, Pa.) turned away 34 of the 39 shots he faced for his first win of the season after splitting last year between the Premier and Elite Rockets teams. Pastorius is an alum of the Tier 1 Hockey Federation 16U Division.

Canada Division

Forward: Derek Petitpas, College Universel Gatineau

The ‘06 forward Petitpas registered four goals and added one assist over Gatineau’s first weekend in the new Canada Division. They had played in the 2023-24 season as a member of the New England Division. Petitpas scored his team’s two goals in their opening 4-2 loss against the Hawkesbury Knights, and then scored two more and added one assist plus a shootout goal in their 4-3 win against the Montreal Black Vees.

Defense: Borna Savic, Somang Laurentides Lanaudiere Hockey

Savic (‘05/Zagreb, Croatia) scored the first hat trick in his team’s USPHL Premier debut, joining the Eels’ Alex Cochran, the Mullets’ Jovan Fowler and Hawkesbury’s Alexis Roy as players to have scored a hat trick in their USPHL Premier debuts this season. His hat trick goal was the game-winner and he also added an assist for four points.

Goaltender: Jeremie Barron, Hawkesbury Knights

Our first USPHL Premier repeat Player Of The Week was the Knights’ stopper, who made 39 saves on 41 shots against College Universel Gatineau to help the Knights improve to 2-1-0-0 on the young season. His .953 save percentage is the best among goaltenders with multiple games played thus far.
