New England Division
Forward: Riley Greer, Junior Bruins
A veteran of the Junior Bruins’ 18U AAA team of the Tier 1 Hockey Federation, Greer (‘05/Daytona Beach, Fla.) had a fantastic outing on Dec. 6, putting up two goals and three assists against the Thunder Hockey Club. He also added one more assist on Dec. 4 against Worcester for six points over three games. He now has 20 points in 17 games in this first USPHL season.
Defense: Payton Kender, South Shore Kings
Kender (‘04/Brewster, Mass.) enjoyed a strong performance over the past week, with two goals and one assist for three points, and he also had a game-winning goal against the Thunder Hockey Club on Dec. 4. He has 14 points this season and 39 points in 67 regular season career games with South Shore.
Goaltender: Derek Sparks, Utica Jr Comets
Sparks (‘05/Grand Prairie, Alb.) went 1-1 over two games last weekend and put in a huge amount of work in both games. In total, he stopped 99 out of 103 shots for a .961 save percentage. He made 47 saves on 49 shots against the Jr. Rangers for a win, and lost a close one against Springfield with 52 saves on 54 shots. Through 16 games, he holds a .925 save percentage.
Atlantic Division
Forward: Ilya Kornoushenko, Red Bank Generals
Kournoushenko (‘05/Tomsk, Russia) put up a 2-4-6 line during the Generals’ most recent two wins to help them to five straight wins. An Atlantic Forward Of The Month for November, he extended his point streak to eight games, over which he’s produced 23 points. He has 38 points in 20 games.
Defense: Jack Kopfstein, Connecticut Jr. Rangers
Four-year Premier veteran Kopfstein (‘05/Newport Beach, Calif.) has been outstanding this season for his new team the Jr. Rangers, recently posting a 1-2-3 line over three recent games for the defending National Champions. In 130 regular season games, he has accumulated 91 points and will be looking for the century mark this month.
Goaltender: Noah Pfab, Hershey Cubs
Pfab (‘07/Nurnberg, Germany) put up another great performance in a string of them this season by stopping all 29 shots he faced from the WBS Knights for his first North American shutout on Dec. 7. He is now at 8-4-1-0 with a .942 save percentage.
Canada Division
Forward: Thomas St-Louis, Collège Universel Gatineau
St-Louis (‘07/Gatineau, Que.) put together a big weekend of two goals and three assists for five points, including a season-best four points on Dec. 7. He is leading Gatineau with 31 points in 26 games this season.
Defense: Marko Petras, Universel Sherbrooke
Petras (‘04/Kezmarok, Slovakia) registered four assists in two games for Sherbrooke and leads all defensemen on his team with 23 points in 24 games.
Goaltender: Alexis Cloutier, Universel Sherbrooke
Cloutier (‘08/Laval, Que.) enjoyed a big win over the division co-leaders the Hawkesbury Knights on Dec. 6, with 46 saves on 49 shots. With the win, he was able to improve his record to 5-3-0-0 with a .925 save percentage.
Selection Process: Divisional statistical leaders are presented to coaches, who are able to vote on the leaders, or nominate and vote on alternate candidates.
