Week of Feb. 1, 2025
Games of Jan. 21-27, 2025
Pacific Division
Forward: Jose-Jasmir Guseff, Lake Tahoe Lakers
Guseff (‘04/Nokia, Finland) has been on fire recently, putting up a 4-4-8 line, for 2.67 points per game. He has improved to 65 points in 35 games this season.
Defense: Aidan Cosgrove, San Diego Sabers
The third-year junior veteran Cosgrove (‘04/Carlsbad, Calif.), a former EHL player, has been a strong addition to the Sabers this year, as illustrated by his being named an Alternate Captain for the team. In 27 games, he has 30 points, including the two assists he posted in last week’s 6-2 win against the Ventura Vikings, including on the GWG.
Goaltender: Perry Jacobs, Lake Tahoe Lakers
Jacobs (‘04/Reno, Nev.) stopped 37 of 38 shots when the Lakers beat Bakersfield. A former USPHL Elite goaltender, Jacobs is now 12-6-1-0 this season and he has 17 wins for his two-year Premier career, a great example of USPHL Advancement In Action.
Northwest Division
Forward: Matej Zeman, Iron County Yeti
Since joining earlier this month for his first North American games, Zeman (‘06/Czechia) has injected amazing offense into the Yeti. He put up six goals and added one assist against Colorado on Jan. 26. He also had a 1-2-3 line one day earlier for a 10-point weekend and he now has 17 points in seven games.
Defense: Keanu McClanahan, Iron County Yeti
McClanahan (‘05/Summerfield, N.C.) has remained one of the top offensive defensemen in the USPHL since he first entered the Premier in 2021. Just five games into his time with the Yeti, McClanahan put up a 3-5-8 line against Colorado to give him 15 points in his first five games since being acquired earlier this month. For his career, he has 123 points in 120 games.
Goaltender: Cole Fennema, Seattle Totems
Fennema (‘04/Colleyville, Texas) stopped 35 of 36 shots he faced over two games against Rogue Valley, including a 17-save shutout on Jan. 26. He remains on a 14-game winning streak and is 15-1-0-0 overall this year. He has shutouts in three of his last four games and nine this season.
Selection Process: Divisional statistical leaders are presented to coaches, who are able to vote on the leaders, or nominate and vote on alternate candidates.
