Pacific Division
Forward: Tyler Gudjonson, Lake Tahoe Lakers
Tyler Gudjonson (‘05/Wynard, Sask.) had a huge weekend to start his junior career, posting five goals and three assists for eight points out of the gate. He scored a hat trick in his third game, posting a 3-1-4 line. Gudjonson joined the Lakers this year after two seasons spent partially in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
Defense: Carver Alford, Lake Tahoe Lakers
The third-year Premier blueliner, the local product Alford (‘05/Lake Tahoe, Calif.) scored two goals and passed out six assists for an eight-point weekend in the three games. That puts him second in the league among defenseman.
Goaltender: Domenik McInenly, Ontario Jr. Reign
McInenly (‘07/Red Deer, Alb.) had a fantastic junior debut when he stopped 33 of the San Diego Sabers’ 34 shots on Sunday in a 5-1 victory.
Northwest Division
Forward: Roman Wolynec, Seattle Totems
A third-year Premier veteran, Wolynec (‘05/Langley, B.C.) jumped out this season to a 2-5-7 line in his first two games, two wins against the Totems’ rivals the Bellingham Blazers. His 3.5 points per game average was among the best in the league last weekend. He currently has 122 points in 80 career regular season Premier games.
Defense: Felix Palla, Seattle Totems
Palla (‘06/Gyor, Hungary) was playing in his first North American games this weekend for the Totems and put up a goal and five assists for six points to kick off his career on this side of the Atlantic.
Goaltender: Jaden Salado, Bremerton Sockeyes
How about this for a “Welcome to Junior Hockey” debut? Salado (‘05/Omaha, Neb.) faced no less than 91 shots against the Rogue Valley Royals on Sept. 20 in Bremerton’s own USPHL debut. He gave up just three for a total of 88 saves and a .967 save percentage.
