USPHL Premier Southeast Division Players Of The Month: December 2024

Forwards

Wyatt Teubert, Hampton Roads Whalers

Tuebert (‘04/White Rock, Canada) scored 16 points in December, with five goals and 11 assists for an average of 2.67 points per game. The forward surpassed 100 career games this month, sitting at 105. He added to his massive points balance with 124 career points across four seasons with Hampton Roads. He has an 18-game points streak that began on Oct. 12. The season points leader for the franchise is the team’s second-highest in all-time assists (77).

 

Matvei Naumov, Potomac Patriots

Naumov (‘04/Ufa, Russia) is having a standout third season in the Premier League. In December, he scored five goals and 13 assists over eight games, for a 2.25 points per game average. The Potomac Patriots forward has 42 points this season, adding to his career total of 88. He has played 75 career games and is the season points leader for his team.

 

Bryce Grandbois, Potomac Patriots

Grandbois (‘04/Woodhaven, Mich.) returned to play for the first time this season in December, scoring at least one goal in all four games and putting up nine total points. The Potomac Patriots forward begins his fourth Premier season and second with the franchise. He has 56 career points across 39 games played, including 31 goals and 25 assists.

Defense

Cooper James, Potomac Patriots

James (‘04/Huntington, Calif.) scored nine points over eight games in December, helping the Potomac Patriots finish out 2024 on top of the Southeast Division standings. The blueliner is the highest-scoring defenseman for his team, with 14 points across 16 games in his third season. He recently surpassed a milestone of 50 career games, with 53 and counting. He has 28 career points, with six goals and 22 assists.

 

Marshall Beaker, Charlotte Rush

Beaker (’05/Brighton, Mich.) is breaking out in his first full Premier season. He played eight games throughout December and registered seven points. He scored his first career goal on Dec. 7 and added three more before the end of 2024. He registered an average of .88 points per game last month. 

 

Honorable mention: Hayden Ritter, Potomac Patriots

Goaltender

Evan Crawford, Charlotte Rush

Crawford (‘04/Greenwich, Conn.) went 2-1-0-0 with a .946 save percentage in December, posting a 1.67 goals against average. In his first season with Charlotte Rush, he is 8-2-0-1, with two shutouts to his name. He is the third-best-performing goalie in the Premier League this season for save percentage and he is sixth in GAA. 

 

Honorable mention: Rocco Stolz, Charlotte Rush

 

Selection Process: The division’s coaches are presented with a ballot form with statistical leaders (ranked by points per game average for skaters and save percentage for goaltenders) and vote on that form. The league takes the results of that vote and presents the coaches with the finalists, who are able to vote on further changes if desired.
