#USPHLNationals: Charlotte Rush Advances To USPHL Premier National Championship Game

The Charlotte Rush will advance to the USPHL Premier National Championship game for the second time in three years, following their 2-0 win over Southeast Division rival the Richmond Generals.

The Rush rode a 21-save shutout performance by Nick Anderson and a stifling team defensive effort to propel them to the final where, as of 7 p.m. Monday night, they will face the winner of the second Semifinal between the Florida Eels and Northern Cyclones.

The Rush scored their first goal in the first period, when Zack Gmerek registered a goal at 15:17, assisted by C.J. Bachman and Aidan Flynn.

The insurance marker came in the second period, when it was Ari Rossi scored, assisted by Parker Banks and Peter Keese.

Big saves down the stretch by Anderson helped the Rush close out their semifinal victory and push on to the semifinals, which will be played at 1 p.m. Tuesday, also at the Utica University Nexus Center.
