As the hockey playoffs approach, the Metro Jets versus the Columbus Mavericks series is definitely going to be an exciting one. The two teams are set to face off in what looks to be an intense series, with both teams eager to advance to the next round – which would be the USPHL National Championships in Utica, N.Y., March 23-28.

The Metro Jets are entering the playoffs with a second-place finish in the Great Lakes regular season standings. With a strong veteran presence on their roster, the Jets are looking to use their experience and leadership with Josh German and Dakota Kott on the back end and Alex Schaumburger up front. They are a team that knows how to hit the reset button each week, and know how these games have so much more meaning.

The Columbus Mavericks, on the other hand, are coming into the playoffs as the third-place team in the standings. However, they are not to be underestimated. They have consistently had some very close-fought battles with top teams in the division, showing they aren’t anyone to be counted out.

Unlike the Jets, the Mavericks are relying on a more team-oriented approach to the game. They don’t have any particular standout players, but instead, have a solid roster that works together to achieve success.

The last time these two teams met, it was a close one-goal game, with the Jets coming out on top. This time around, both teams will be looking to up their game and secure a victory. The playoffs are a whole new ballgame, and anything can happen.
