The Vernal Oilers made history this past weekend by earning their 31st straight win on Jan. 11, which set a new USPHL Premier record. The prior record of 30 games was held by the 2023-24 eventual National Champion Connecticut Jr. Rangers.
This marked the second winning streak record set by the Oilers, as they also set the record for the best winning streak from the start of a season, with 21 wins, which bypassed the previous record of 20 that was held by both the 2019-20 Islanders Hockey Club and 2021-22 Metro Jets. That record is also now 31-0 with the Oilers’ Jan. 11 victory. The Oilers are hoping to continue extending the history they’ve already made.
“I’m super proud of our group. Our coaching staff has done a great job at putting a structure in place and our boys have bought in fully. We are happy to have secured this record and now can turn our focus to earning a return trip to nationals in March,” said Oilers Owner and General Manager David Imonti.
The OIlers get back in action on Friday, Jan. 17, against the Colorado Fighting Elk.
