Wednesday Highlights: Greyhounds stay in playoff fight with big road win

  • Owen Allard scored one late in the third period to secure the win for the Greyhounds.
  • Two second period goals for the Greyhounds, courtesy of Brady Martin and Travis Hayes gave them the lead headed into the final frame.
  • Greg Najda scored his first career OHL goal in his debut to tie the game at three for the Wolves.
  • Nolan Lalonde made 27 saves and recorded an assist in the win as the Hounds sit seventh in the Western Conference.

Brampton Steelheads 7 at Brantford Bulldogs 2

  • With his second goal of the night (shorthanded), Steelheads Captain Porter Martone secured the game-winner and his 200th career OHL point.
  • A three-goal first period gave the Trout a big advantage, with Martone scoring two, and Gabriel Chiarot netting one as well.
  • Aidan Lane and Kieran Witkowski each had a goal and an assist in the win.
  • Thomas Budnick and Aiden O’Donnell each potted one for the Bulldogs, but they couldn’t generate any momentum to overcome Brampton’s lead.
  • Brampton has won four in a row, improving to 34-22-10-0.
