WHL Career Stats: 264 GP – 72 G-121 A – 193 PTS

It was a pleasure, T-MacK!
Joining the WHL’s graduating class of 2025 is former Medicine Hat Tigers and Everett Silvertips forward, Tyler MacKenzie. Selected in the sixth round (122nd overall) of the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft by Medicine Hat, MacKenzie quickly established himself as an offensive force to be reckoned with at the WHL level. At just 16-years-old, the forward made his WHL debut with the Tigers – suiting up in 19 games during his inaugural season. In just his first full season in the Western League, MacKenzie was already racking up the points. Through 52 appearances during the 2021-21 WHL Season, the soon-to-be star recorded 26 points (4 G-22 A). Along with his offensive production, MacKenzie quickly became a leader within the Tigers’ locker room. He was named an assistant captain for the 2022-23 season and was later promoted to captain for the 2023-24 campaign. In his four-season stint in ‘The Hat,’ MacKenzie boasted 115 points (39 G-76 A) in 197 appearances. However, in May 2024, the longtime Tabby was sent south of the border following a trade with the Everett Silvertips. Embracing his new team club with open arms, the Red Deer, Alta., local went on to record a career campaign in his final season of WHL eligibility. Now, an assistant captain for the Silvertips, MacKenzie erupted for a personal best of 78 points (33 G-45 A) in 67 games with the Tips. MacKenzie ended his final season second in Silvertips points, just four back from now Detroit Red Wings prospect, Carter Bear.

WHL Draft: 2019 – 3rd Round, 64th Overall (Everett)
NHL Draft: 2023 – 6th Round, 175th Overall (Nashville)
After five seasons of lighting the lamp as a member of the Everett Silvertips, veteran forward Austin Roest is graduating from the Western Hockey League. Roest, a product of Coldstream, B.C., spent the duration of his career wearing Everett’s iconic green and silver uniforms, accruing over 200 appearances with the club. Selected in the third round (64th overall) of the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft, the forward quickly introduced himself to the Silvertips faithful by netting eight points (3 G-5 A) in his first 23 starts. From there, it didn’t take long for Roest to become a crowd pleaser in Everett. By his third season in Tips Country, Roest was named to the Club’s leadership group, serving as an alternate captain for the 2022-23 WHL Season. That same campaign would end up being a monumental one for the budding forward as Roest quietly racked up a career-high of 78 points (32 G-46 A) in 60 appearances before hearing his named called by the Nashville Predators in the sixth round of the 2023 NHL Draft. He would then further his career as an NHL prospect by inking a three-year, entry-level contract with Nashville in March 2024. Roest also went on to serve as Everett’s captain for the 2023-24 season, recording 71 points (38 G-33 A) in 61 skates. After suffering an injury in September 2024, and after a lengthy rehabilitation process, the veteran was re-assigned to Everett for one final dance with his junior hockey club. Hitting the ice for seven regular season skates, a revitalized Roest helped the Silvertips captured their second-ever Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy as the WHL’s 2024-25 Regular Season Champions. Roest graduates the WHL with 196 total points in 210 junior hockey appearances.
