BLIND RIVER — The Blind River Beavers of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced today that forward Tim Perks has committed attend school and skate for Northland College in the NCAA ranks starting in the fall.

The Lumberjacks are members of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association with the college being based in Ashland, Wis.

In 18 regular season contests with Blind River, Perks impressed registering 4 points on eight goals and six assists.

Two of his tallies were game-winners, including one during a four-tally, one-assist night vs. North Bay back on March 1.

Perks is one of the first recruits for new Northland head coach Seamus Gregory, who makes the move to the NCHA following a very successful run at Williston State College in North Dakota.

While at Williston Gregory built the first hockey program at the school and lead his team to a second place finish in the NCJAA tournament in his first year at the helm.

In both 2013 and 2014 his teams won the NJCAA National Championship.
