After being suspended from the University of New Hampshire hockey team indefinitely in September for an arrest stemming allegations of Domestic Assault and Battery, Casey DeSmith has now been permanently removed from the hockey program.

DeSmith, a three-year starter for the UNH Wildcats, finishes his career with a 48-36-8 record, 2.32 career goals against average and a .923 save percentage. DeSmith had been attending classes at UNH this semester, but with his changed status as a member of the hockey program, his future at the university is unclear.

DeSmith, will be challenged to now find a home in hockey anywhere.  A cautionary tale of how alcohol, violence and late night activity is not only inappropriate for young people, but how these situations can alter your entire life.
