Casper NCDC Team Announces Its New Team Name: Casper Warbirds

By Casper Warbirds Staff

The Casper, Wyoming, community has spoken! The Casper NCDC team is thrilled to announce the new name of its new hockey team: the Casper Warbirds.

This name pays homage to the rich history of the Casper Air Field, which trained bomber pilots from 1942 to 1945 and played a crucial role in securing victory for the Allied forces during World War II.

The Warbirds are excited to bring Tier II hockey to Casper, Wyoming, and are committed to engaging with the Casper community every step of the way. As part of this commitment, the Warbirds invite everyone to stay tuned
to the team’s social media channels on Instagram, Facebook, and X (@CasperWarbirds) for the opportunity to help us select the Warbirds mascot and the mascot’s name, and also to compete to create the new logo for your Casper Warbirds!

The Warbirds thank the Casper community and look forward to an exciting hockey 2024-25 season.
