Clouthier’s 4 points leads Eskimos over Crunch

COCHRANE – Brady Cloutier tallied twice and set-up two others to help lead the Abitibi Eskimos to a 7-3 victory over the Cochrane Crunch Friday in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League encounter at the Tim Horton Event Centre.

The visiting Eskimos jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on markers by Brenden Locke and captain Kevin Walker.

Cochrane got on the board thanks to the power play before the first period was complete as Dylan Sakatch connected at 14:22.

The Crunch tied it four and a half minutes into the middle stanza courtesy of Dustin Cordeiro’s 42 second of the season.

Abitibi answered that by striking three times before the second was compete on goals by Clouthier, Joe Olson and Brennan Roy.

Clouthier added another during a man advantage opportunity midway through the third to extend the Eskimos cushion.

Ian Skinner supplied one more for Cochrane with just overfour minutes to go before Jake Holland wrapped up the scoring for the Eskimos in the latter stages of the contest.

Locke and Roy added three assists for the winning side to cap off four-point nights along with Clouthier. Jason Berube had a pair of helpers for the home side.

Logan Ferrington faced 41 shots to secure the decision for Abitibi.

Brett Young played the first two periods for the Crunch and suffered the loss allowing five against on 25 attempts.

Ben Auger made 10 stops on 12 shots in a period of relief for Cochrane.
