The 2025 Memorial Cup has come to a close in Rimouski, Quebec, and the London Knights were crowned champions following a standout redemption performance against the Medicine Hat Tigers. As the tournament wrapped up, the CHL announced its Memorial Cup All-Star Team, showcasing the tournament’s six most outstanding performers – four of whom are Knights players.
Tournament MVP: Easton Cowan (F) – London Knights
A dynamic presence every time he hit the ice, Easton Cowan earned Tournament MVP honours with seven points (3G, 4A) in five games. He now has 15 career Memorial Cup points in nine games over the past two years, tying him with Knights alumnus Mitch Marner for the all-time franchise lead. Cowan also became the first player in CHL history to lead the tournament in scoring in back-to-back years.
A second-round (28th overall) pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2023 NHL Draft, Cowan’s elite skating, playmaking capabilities, and relentless work ethic made him a game-changer throughout his junior career.
Denver Barkey (F) – London Knights
Leading by example, captain Denver Barkey was a force at both ends of the ice. Despite playing through a lower-body injury sustained during the OHL Western Conference Finals, Barkey showed grit and leadership, matching Cowan’s output with seven points (3G, 4A) in five games.
A third-round (95th overall) pick of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2023, Barkey’s two-way play, determination, and clutch performances helped set the tone for the Knights’ championship run.
Sam Dickinson (D) – London Knights
A steady and solid force on the blue line, Sam Dickinson notched six assists in five games. Whether quarterbacking the power play or shutting down top opposing forwards, Dickinson was a model of consistency, helping London control the pace and limit high-danger chances.
Drafted 11th overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2024 NHL Draft, Dickinson also received the Max Kaminsky Trophy this season as the OHL’s Defenceman of the Year. His intelligent reads, puck movement, and leadership helped solidified himself as one of the best defenceman in the league.
Austin Elliott (G) – London Knights
Between the pipes, overage goaltender Austin Elliott was nothing short of exceptional. After being claimed off WHL waivers, Elliott defied expectations and became a foundational piece in London’s Memorial Cup victory. He went undefeated in his first 20 starts as a Knight, with his first loss not coming until over four months into the season. In total, he suffered only three losses all year across all competitions this season.
Committed to the University of Massachusetts Lowell for the 2025/26 season, Elliott’s story is a testament to hard work, patience and pure talent.
