Former Kapuskasing Flyers Captain will play for the Crunch this season

Brandon Plourde adds depth to an already deep defensive team!

It’s #CRUNCHTIME,
What do the Kapuskasing Flyers and YOUR Cochrane Crunch have in common?  Well before today not too much to tell you the truth but as we all know things change and today they changed for the better.
Former Kapuskasing Flyers Captain Brandon Plourde has packed his bags and is coming back to the North to play hockey.  Brandon played in the GOJHL last season for the Cambridge Winterhawks where the stay at home Defenceman put 3 points on the board and had 66 minutes of penalties in 44 games.
The Kapuskasing native is going to be a valuable member to an already dominant Defensive core that GM Ryan Leonard has put together.  He weighs in at 175 pounds and measures 5’9″.  He was born on December 6th 1994.
Brandon and I took a few minutes to discuss the up-coming season and this is what he had to say:
“I want to help lead the Cochrane Crunch to the Dudley-Hewitt Cup in it’s inaugural season.  It would be a great way to end my Junior career.
I am looking forward to playing so close to home.  It’s going to be great to have Friends and Family in the seats cheering me on.  It’s also great to reunite with Cody Gratton (they played together for the Cambridge Winterhawks of the GOJHL) we got along really well so it makes the move a little easier to take.”
Brandon is a very determined young man and plans on playing in either the CIS or NCAA Division I or Division III next year.  He plans on continuing his studies in Kinesiology that he started at Sir Wilfred Laurier University last year.  I asked about his plans once school was done and he said he hadn’t thought that far ahead yet.  He will play it by here.
So Cochrane join me in welcoming Brandon back to the North.
See you at the rink!!!
