Former Rockets Hockey Club Forward Lipkin Set To Represent Team USA At World Juniors

Former Rockets Hockey Club forward Sam Lipkin has been named to play for Team USA in the World Junior Championships, which begins officially Monday, Dec. 26, 2022, and finishes on Jan. 5, 2023, in Halifax, N.S., and Moncton, N.B.

The Philadelphia native posted 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points in 19 games, mostly at Hub City Tampa, when the NCDC played the majority of its 2020-21 season in a closed community concept in Florida.

After the NCDC season ended, Lipkin moved on to the USHL with the Chicago Steel, and scored 11 points in 30 games, and two points in eight playoff games. He was drafted in 2021 by the Arizona Coyotes, in the seventh round 223rd overall.

After another season in Chicago, in which he was a Captain and posted 71 points in 59 games, he advanced to Quinnipiac University. Today, he is tied for second in team scoring at 19 points in 18 games (Side note: Former Junior Bruin Collin Graf leads that team with 26 points in 18 games.
