Friday Highlights: Attack overcome a 4-1 deficit to take down Steelheads in OT

Owen Sound Attack 5 at Brampton Steelheads 4 OT

  • The Attack was trailing 4-1 at the beginning of the third period, but this didn’t scare them. They scored three unanswered to send the game to overtime where captain clutch Landen Hookey scored the game-winner.
  • Carson Rehkopf scored two goals for the Steelheads, while Landen Hookey had two for the Attack.
  • Pierce Mbuyi had a goal and two assists, including a primary on the game-winner.

Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 1 at Kingston Frontenacs 3

  • The Fronts netted three unanswered to secure victory, including one shorthanded by Maleek McGowan.
  • The Hounds opened up the scoring in the first period with a goal from Noel Nordh, but this proved to be their only goal of the night.
  • Cedrick Guindon and Tuomas Uronen both had a goal and an assist in the win.

Erie Otters 4 at Ottawa 67’s 1

  • The Otters had a big third period, scoring three goals, including the game-winner from Brett Hammond.
  • Luca Pinelli scored for the 67’s in the second period, but this proved to be their lone goal on the night.
  • Noah Erliden made 28 saves on 29 shots in the win.

Flint Firebirds 3 at Kitchener Rangers 4

  • Goals from Trent Swick and Tanner Lam, plus a couple big saves by Jackson Parsons secured the win for the Rangers in this shootout thriller.
  • Christian Humphreys had a goal and an assist in the win.
  • Goaltending came up big at both ends of the ice, with Jackson Parsons stopping 30/33 for the Rangers, while Nathan Day turned away 32/35 for the Firebirds.
  • Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Sam McCue had a goal and an assist for the Firebirds.

Guelph Storm 0 at London Knights 6

  • This one was another offensive explosion for the Knights, scoring six unanswered to win it via shutout.
  • Sam Dickinson had a goal and an assist, while Landon Sim scored two goals in the win.
  • Aleksei Medvedev had a huge 32 save shutout for the Knights, just the second of his career.

Brantford Bulldogs 5 at Oshawa Generals 4 OT

  • Jake O’Brien scored the OT winner from the bulldogs off a nice feed from Adam Jiricek.
  • Adam Jiricek opened up the scoring for the Bulldogs, but the Gens quickly answered back—scoring three unanswered to gain the advantage.
  • The 3-1 lead didn’t bother the Bulldogs, who went on the score three unanswered of their own.
  • Owen Griffin scored late in the third for the Gens to send the game to overtime.

Sudbury Wolves 2 at Sarnia Sting 6

  • Lukas Fischer was the difference maker in this one for the Sting, scoring a hat-trick which included the game-winning goal.
  • Kieron Walton and Nathan Villeneuve both tucked a goal for the Wolves.
  • Matthew Manza scored his first career OHL goal for the Sting.
