Calgary, Alta.- The Calgary Hitmen and Lethbridge Hurricanes will mix it up in Round Two of the 2025 WHL Playoffs presented by Nutrien.
Calgary (45-17-3-3, 96PTS) has been idle since Wednesday, April 2, when they became the first team to advance to the conference semifinal round with a sweep of the Saskatoon Blades.
Lethbridge (42-21-3-2, 89PTS) dispatched the Brandon Wheat Kings in Game 5 on Friday night for their first series win since 2018.
The Hitmen were 6-2-0-0 against their division rival from the Bridge City in the 2024-25 regular season.
Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Tanner Howe has paced Calgary with nine points (2G-7A) in four games, while 2025 NHL Draft-eligible Ben Kindel has been filling the net with five goals and three assists in Round One.
Rookie netminder Anders Miller (4-0-0-0) currently leads all netminders in the postseason with a 1.50 goals-against average.
2024 WHL Champion and Winnipeg Jets prospect Brayden Yager has carried the postseason torch for the Hurricanes, putting up four goals and four assists for eight points in five outings. Captain and Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Noah Chadwick is among the top-scoring defencemen in the WHL with five points (1G-4A) in five games- he’s tied with teammate Vojtech Port (Anaheim Ducks) for fifth in points by a defenceman.
Jackson Unger, another member of the 2024 Ed Chynoweth Cup-winning Warriors, is 4-1-0-0 with a 2.8 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage.
Calgary will open the second-round series at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Thursday, April 10 at 7:00 p.m. MST.
The series will shift south to the VisitLethbridge.com Arena for Game 3 on Tuesday, April 15 at 7:00 p.m. MST.
