Kamloops, B.C. – The Kamloops Blazers have acquired 2007-born defenceman Kayd Ruedig from the Portland Winterhawks along with a conditional fifth round pick in the 2027 WHL Prospects Draft in exchange for a second round pick in the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft.
Ruedig is from Humboldt, SK and has spent his entire WHL career with the Portland Winterhawks. Last season, Ruedig had 4 goals, 18 assists and 22 points in 64 games with the Winterhawks. This season he has two goals and an assist in 10 games.
The 5’11” and 173lb right shot defender will join the Blazers this week and will make his debut with the hockey club on the weekend.
