National Junior Evaluation Camp: Day Two

Lake Placid, N.Y. — Competition at the 2015 USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp in Lake Placid, New York, will begin tonight as USA White and USA Blue face each other in an intrasquad scrimmage at 5 p.m. ET.

Tonight’s scrimmage will be the first time Ron Wilson (Riverside, R.I.), head coach of the 2016 U.S. National Junior Team, and his staff will assess the players in a game setting during camp.

“The first scrimmage is about getting to know the system we’re going to play and try to have them relaxed enough to show what they can do as individuals,” said Wilson. “I’m hoping the team comes together as fast as possible.”

Both Team USA Blue and Team USA White took the ice for the first time this morning. Team USA Blue, led by associate coaches Chris Chelios (Chicago, Ill.) and Doug Weight (Warren, Mich.), took the ice at 9 a.m. while associate coaches Danton Cole (Pontiac, Mich.) and Kelly Miller (Lansing, Mich.) oversaw Team USA White’s practice at 10 a.m.
