Forward Will Rassier couldn’t think of a better place than the South Shore Kings organization to have played for this season. With the help of Head Coach Tyler Holske and Coach Drew Omicioli, he has earned an NCAA Division III commitment to Wesleyan University for the 2025-26 season.
Rassier started out his NCDC career during the 2023-24 season when he played for the Mercer Chiefs. Rassier had 24 points in 30 games for the Chiefs last season. He was traded over the summer to the South Shore Kings and is absolutely thriving. In 43 games so far, Rassier has 48 points (21G, 27A) and is a key piece of the offense. Last month, Rassier was also selected to the New England All-Stars team, with whom he tallied three goals and an assist in two games.
“I could not speak highly enough about Tyler Holske and Drew Omicioli as they have helped me so much throughout the year,” said the Princeton, N.J. native. “When I talked to Coach Holske over the summer after the trade I knew that it was the right spot and I was excited to get started.”
Committing to Wesleyan was a few months in the process as Rassier began talking to the coaching staff around Thanksgiving. He explained that the coaches liked his “ability to create chances and get the puck to the net.”
Rassier had the best feeling when he stepped foot on campus and knew it was the place he wanted to call home for the next four years. He plans on majoring in economics and possibly computer science and he likes that Wesleyan has lots to offer.
“I really liked the people at Wesleyan,” said Rassier. “Everyone I talked to when I toured could not speak more highly of it. I also loved everything it has to offer academically and athletically, so it was a no brainer. It was a place I wanted to be a part of and when I met the students, teachers, and coaches it just felt like a really good fit.”
Rassier does a great job creating opportunities and driving the puck to the net, but he still has a lot he wants to work on before heading to Wesleyan.
“I want to continue to work on my overall 200-foot game and to be an impact player in all situations,” said Rassier.
The South Shore Kings currently stand at 37-7-2 and are in first place in the New England Division. Last year’s reigning Dineen Cup champions would love nothing more than to go back- to-back and Rassier hopes they can accomplish it.
“I want to continue to get better individually and as a team,” said Rassier. “We need to push every day and hopefully we end up with a Dineen Cup if we continue to do the right things.”
The NCDC congratulates Will Rassier, his family, the South Shore Kings and Wesleyan University for his commitment.
