Seacoast Spartans 7, Northern Cyclones 3

Seacoast controlled the game with strong special teams. Brandon Hemmer (’04/St. Cloud, Minn.) had a 1-3-4 line and Thomas Sullivan (’04/Melrose, Mass.) registered two goals and one assist, helping to lead the offense. Jack Fickenscher (’05/Davidson, N.C.) and Sean Gilland (’04/Wethersfield, Conn.) also had multi-point performances. Seacoast pulled away with key power-play goals to secure the 7-3 win. Daniil Cepov (’06/Klaipeda, Lithuania) stopped 55 of 58 shots in the win.

 

Islanders Hockey Club 7, Boston Jr. Rangers 3

The Islanders Hockey Club controlled the game, led by Troy Hayes (’06/Windham, N.H.) with two goals, Matthew Babineau (’04/Malden, Mass.) with two goals and one assist, and Mathieu Fournier (’04/Montreal, Que.) with a goal and an assist. Babineau struck twice in the first period, helping the Islanders build momentum. University of Vermont commit Daniel Heroux (’05/Montreal, Que.) made 25 saves on 28 shots for the victory.

 

Worcester Railers JHC 7, South Shore Kings 4 

The Worcester Railers JHC capitalized on balanced scoring, with three players each earning a goal and an assist – Ben Jarosz (’05/Franklin, Mass.), James Lyver (’05/Grafton, Mass.) and Austin Jerzak (’04/Albany, N.Y.) The Kings kept it close into the third pulling up to 5-4, before the Railers pulled away. Goaltender Cole Scullion (’06/Burlington, Ont.) made 52 saves in a standout performance, securing the win for the Railers.

 

P.A.L. Jr. Islanders 1, Connecticut Jr. Rangers 0 

It was a true goaltenders duel on Long Island Friday as the Jr. Islanders’ Ethan Ramonetti (’06/East Northport, N.Y.) stopped all 27 shots he faced in a 1-0 shutout win. On the other end, Jakub Kral (’04/Czechia) stopped 43 of 44 shots for CJR. Robert Lachance (’04/West Hartford, Conn.) scored the only goal in the game.

 

Jersey Hitmen 6, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 3

The Hitmen scored three first period goals, before Dmitrij Haberling (’06/Berlin, Germany) extended the lead with two second-period goals. The Knights responded with back-to-back power-play goals from Vitaliy Ulianov (’07/Lviv, Ukraine). Haberling also had an assist in addition to his two goals to stand as the offensive leader of the night. Derek Tremblay (’05/Quebec City, Que.), with a goal and an assist, also helped the Hitmen control the game. Nick Bunch (’05/Canton, Mich.) made 34 saves on 37 shots as the winning goaltender.

 

Utica Jr. Comets 4, Thunder Hockey Club 2

Utica rallied from an early deficit to secure a 4-2 victory over the Thunder. Ricky Volpe (’04/Commack, N.Y.) scored a goal and two assists and Isaac Barrett (’04/Zionsville, Ind.) had a goal and an assist. Dylan Eliason (’04/Northville, Mich.) earned the win with 32 saves on 34 shots.

 

Utah Outliers 2, Rock Springs Grizzlies 1 

All the scoring in the Friday night showdown between Utah and Rock Springs took place in the third period. The Outliers opened and closed the scoring. Thomas Duhamel (’07/Drummondville, Que.) started it and Garrett Joss (’04/Whitby, Ont.) finished it with the game-winning goal scored with 53 seconds remaining in regulation. Utah’s Matthew MacArthur (’04/Barrington, Ill.) stopped 18 of 19 shots in the win.

 

Casper Warbirds 5, Idaho Falls Spud Kings 3

The Warbirds bounced back from a 2-0 first period deficit, responding with three goals in the second period. Micahlind Pelletier (’04/Gilbert, Ariz.) and Cannon Lentz (’04/Nashville, Tenn.) each finished with a goal and an assist to lead the Warbirds. Jeffrey Fillion (’04/Chicoutimi, Que.) made 42 saves on 45 shots and he is 2-0 in his first two games with Casper after being acquired from Utah.

 

Pueblo Bulls 6, Ogden Mustangs 0 

The Bulls got an important shutout against the Mustangs, pulling to within eight points of the second place Mustangs with about a month remaining in the season. Goaltender Ryan Henry (’04/Wayne, N.J.) made 33 saves for his first shutout of the season. The Marschanok twins, both ’05’s from Minsk, Belarus, led the way offensively for Pueblo. Siamion Marshchanok led with two goals and two assists. Matsvei Marshchanok had a goal and two assists. Additionally, Jack MacKenzie (’05/Fishers, Ind.) and Marcus Jackson (’06/Lakeville, Minn.) each had one goal and one assist.
