Jersey Hitmen 6, Utica Jr. Comets 2 

The winners and still undefeated in regulation, the Hitmen came away with a Friday afternoon victory, their ninth on the season. Davis Ross (’05/State College, Pa.) and Aiden Ryan (’04/Raleigh, N.C.) both put up a goal and an assist, while Ty Oller (’05/Wayne, N.J.) rang up four assists. Ryan Shea (’06/Norwell, Mass.) had two assists, as well, while Jack Kavetsky (’06/Westminster, Calif.)

 

South Shore Kings 3, West Chester Wolves 2

Sacred Heart University commit Jack DesRuisseaux (’04/Manchester, N.H.)  scored the regulation GWG with just 1:25 remaining in the third for the Kings’ eighth victory in a row. Jason Zaccari (’05/Santa Ana, Calif.) had two assists, and Lukas Fursten (’05/Trebic, Czechia) stopped 16 shots for the win. Griffin Davis (’05/Nashua, N.H.) stopped 52 of 55 shots for a strong performance on the other side.

 

P.A.L. Jr. Islanders 5, Northern Cyclones 4

The Jr. Islanders won their fourth in a row when they defeated the Cyclones, 5-4, at the USPHL Jersey Hitmen Classic. Arthur Mirante (’04/Garden City, N.Y.) scored twice, while Aiden Holland (’05/Topsfield, Mass.) and Devin Niles (’06/Hatfield, Mass.) each scored a goal and an assist. Ethan Ramonetti (’06/East Northport, N.Y.) stopped 34 of 38 shots for the victory.

 

Connecticut Jr. Rangers 3, Worcester Railers JHC 2 (OT)

Rangers veteran Carl Ericksen (’04/Okemos, Mich.) scored the OT game-winner as the Jr. Rangers came all the way back from being down 2-0. Justin Filipelli (’04/New York, N.Y.) scored both of the Rangers’ regulation goals. Michael Shelley (’05/Stafford, Va.) stopped 25 of 27 shots, while Cole Werthman (’06/Levittown, Pa.) stopped 44 of 47 to earn the Railers a point.

 

Mercer Chiefs 4, Thunder Hockey Club 1

The Chiefs built an early lead and very nearly got a shutout, save for a late third period Thunder goal. In the Chiefs’ fifth straight win, Artyom Barashkin (’04/Minsk, Belarus) scored the game-winning goal and Chiefs veteran David VanIterson (’04/Bethesda, Md.) got two assists. Fellow returning Chief Dominick Gatto (’05/St. Charles, Ill.) stopped 26 of 27 shots for the win.

 

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 4, Boston Jr. Rangers 3

The Knights got a pair of goals from Keanan Pearman (’05/Sherwood Park, Alb.) and a goal and an assist from Matthieu Clevenger (’05/Rochester, Mich.) en route to their Friday victory. Ethan Abram-Hale (’05/Cape Neddick, Maine) and Thomas Dell (’05/Franktown, Colo.) each had two assists. In net, Max Varner (’05/Buffalo, Minn.) stopped 24 of 27 shots for the win, which helped pull the Knights to .500 (5-5-0-0).

 

Rockets Hockey Club 3, Seacoast Spartans 1

Jared Rothman (’06/Chappaqua, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal in the first period and Daniel Dmitrievsky (’06/Washington, N.J.) stopped 16 saves to earn the Rockets’ second straight win at the Jersey Hitmen Classic.

 

Utah Outliers 4, Rock Springs Grizzlies 0

American International College recruit Marcus Ouellet (’04/Toronto, Ont.) stopped all 27 shots he faced, and the Outliers got a goal and an assist apiece from former USPHL Premier standout Filip Lezzani (’04/Puchov, Slovakia) and Justin Obrochta (’06/Shore View, Calif.), while Braden Hansberger (’06/Elk Rier, Minn.)  The Outliers are undefeated in regulation in their last two games.

 

Pueblo Bulls 4, Idaho Falls Spud Kings 2

Gavin Barr (’05/Colorado Springs, Colo.) scored two goals for the Bulls’ fourth straight victory. Jimmy Zeissel (’05/Seattle, Wash.) registered a goal and an assist, and in net, Ryan Mitchell (’06/Colorado Springs, Colo.) stopped 39 of 41 in net for the victory.

 

Ogden Mustangs 1, Casper Warbirds 0

It was a goaltenders’ duel, but the goal by Mustangs veteran Brody Simko (’04/Butler, Pa.)  was the difference. Hunter Bauer (’06/Bristow, Va.) registered 21 saves for his shutout, while on the other end, Ryan Henry (’04/Wayne, N.J.) made 40 saves on 41 shots. The Mustangs have not lost in regulation in seven games, since their Sept. 20-21 season-opening series against the Spud Kings.
