New USPHL Elite Team To Be Named Jersey Shore Whalers

As TJHN first reported on January 30th, a new Tier III team has been approved for the State of New Jersey.

The Jersey Shore Whalers are to be members of the USPHL Elite Division. (formerly known as the Empire Junior Hockey League)  The team is to be located in Brick New Jersey.

The news is getting out via emails to players.  TJHN was forwarded the email from an avid reader and junior player parent.  See below:

The Jersey Shore Whalers are pleased to announce that they have been approved by USA Hockey and accepted into the Empire Division of the United States Premier Hockey League.

Joining the organization as Director of Hockey Operations and General Manager of the Junior program is Alex DePalma.  Alex’s experience, accomplishments and passion for the game will ensure success for the program and it’s players.

The Whalers recognize the talented players in the Jersey Shore area, and are committed to ensuring the growth and development of those players on and off the ice.

The organization’s U18 program, coached by legendary high school coach Mike Reynolds, will serve as a feeder program preparing their prospect players for the Junior level.

Preparing players for Junior hockey starts with a great youth organization.  The Whalers support and will rely on the Brick Hockey Club to develop those players at the youth levels.  Both organizations share the same philosophy and will work hard together to achieve these goals.

With their administrative staff in place, the organization is in the process of finalizing their Junior coaching staff.  Coaching staff, and more information about the Junior program will be released shortly.
