Here’s a look at some of the top storylines from a busy weekend across the league:
Brantford Remain Perfect in Regulation
The Eastern Conference leaders and CHL’s top-ranked Brantford Bulldogs remain the only team without a regulation loss, entering the week with an 11–0–1–1 record. They lead the league in both power-play efficiency and total goals scored. Backstopping their success is Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week, Ryerson Leenders. The veteran netminder went 2–0 over the weekend with stellar numbers: a 1.00 GAA, .966 SV%, and 56 total saves.
Mason Courville Makes History
Flint Firebirds rookie goaltender Mason Courville earned his first career OHL shutout on Saturday in a 5–0 win over the Erie Otters. Courville, who turned aside 19 shots, became the youngest OHL netminder (15 years, 363 days) to record a shutout since Bryce O’Hagan of the Soo Greyhounds in December 2007.
Sudbury Cracks the Power Rankings
After an 0–7 start, the Sudbury Wolves are finding their stride, winning three of their last four and finding the 16th spot on the OHL Power Rankings for the first time this season. Winnipeg Jets prospect Kieron Walton has been a driving force since returning from injury earlier this month. Walton is riding a six-game point streak and exploded for eight points (3G, 5A) in two weekend wins, earning Cogeco OHL Player of the Week honours.
Tristan Delisle Extends Streak
Owen Sound Attack forward Tristan Delisle pushed his point streak to an OHL season-high 15 games, dating back to opening night on Sept. 19. Over that span, he has tallied six goals and 15 assists for 21 points.
Barrie Colts Snap Six-Game Skid
The Colts returned to the win column with a much-needed overtime victory against the Rangers on Saturday at home. Co-captain Kashawn Aitcheson, who last week became the franchise’s all-time goals leader by a defenseman in regular-season play, added another goal and an assist in the win.
Michael Newlove Earns First Shutout
Windsor rookie goaltender Michael Newlove continues to check off milestones. After his first start and first win, he now has his first shutout – an 18-save performance in a 2–0 victory on Thursday.
London Knights Back on Track
The Knights have shaken off their slow start, going 7-0-2-0 over their last nine games. Sam O’Reilly (6-6–12), Ben Wilmott (6-5–11), and Jared Woolley (5-6–11) are all producing at over a point-per-game pace. London also recently bolstered its depth by acquiring 2026 NHL Draft prospect Braidy Wassilyn from Niagara in exchange for Noah Read.
Jaakko Wycisk Leading 2009-Born Skaters
Guelph Storm rookie Jaakko Wycisk was named OHL Rookie of the Week after posting four points (1G, 3A) in two games. The second overall pick in last year’s draft has 13 points (6-7–13) in 13 games, ranking top-four among rookies and first among 2009-born players.
Niagara IceDogs Heating Up
The IceDogs swept their weekend with a 3–0 record, including two wins over Brampton and a 4–1 victory against Kingston. Kevin He recorded a hat trick on Sunday, while Ryan Roobroeck and Riley Patterson chipped in five and six points respectively. Rookie defenseman Ben Reisnecker has also emerged as a steady power-play quarterback.
Luca Romano Strikes at the Buzzer
Kitchener Rangers forward and 2025 NY Islanders draft pick Luca Romano scored twice in Sunday’s win over North Bay. His first came with just 1.9 seconds left in the second period, while his second was a short-handed empty-netter to seal the game – he is currently riding a four-game point streak. Sophomore forward Christian Humphreys, who’s leading Kitchener in points with 18 (5G, 13A), also came up big for the team this past weekend recording seven points (2G, 5A) in their three games.
