Randy Russon Joins TJHN And The Junior Hockey Radio Network

Randy Russon is a name synonymous with junior hockey in both the United States and Canada. Decades of writing and reporting experience are what has separated Randy Russon from many that came before him and many who have come after.
“He’s a good reporter, he tells the whole story and he tells the truth. What more can you ask for?” said Bruno Bragagnolo, coach-general manager of the Soo Eagles of the North American Hockey League. “The guy knows everybody in the NAHL and Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League. I am glad to see him going to The Junior Hockey News.”
Randy Russon has been covering junior hockey since 1975. Writing for various publications he is also the host of the “Hockey North Show” and the “Thunderbird Hockey Show” on ESPN 1400 (WKNW-AM) out of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
“When Randy sent me an email and other people called suggesting getting him on board with us would be a good idea, it really became rather easy to make the move,” said Joseph Kolodziej, publisher of TJHN. “Randy brings a wealth of experience and the radio programs he hosts are not only popular but very informative. Getting him on board with The Junior Hockey Radio Network and the BS Boyz is another way for us to keep fans informed on new team and player information.”
Russon said he is looking forward to a junior hockey association with TJHN.
“Covering junior hockey, in particular the NAHL and NOJHL, is not only a passion of mine but it is a major part of what I do for ESPN 1400 and the local newspaper, Sault This Week,” said Russon. “I don’t know Joe personally but I know of him through reputable, respected hockey people such as Bruno Bragagnolo and the Soo Eagles. This should be a good fit, aligning with Joe, TJHN and the radio group so the ESPN hockey shows that I host can be archived for repeat play.”
Quote from Bill Gleich, President/CEO, Sovereign Communications

“Randy is a great hockey guy, and does a fantastic job covering the NOJHL and NAHL.  We’re delighted to have him on our ESPN 1400 radio team.  I think his shows will be a great addition to the Junior Hockey Radio Network.”

The BS Boyz are also looking forward to this new programming.

“We are looking forward to having Randy Russon and the “Hockey North Show” appear weekly on The “Original” Junior Hockey Radio network – khky.radiostream123.com Building a radio network of valuable and reliable broadcasters takes time and we consider Randy one of the best when it comes to Junior Hockey. His insight of the NAHL and NOJHL is not only impressive, but will entertain listeners as well.”
