In a dramatic finish on college hockey’s biggest stage, Hamilton College captured the NCAA Division III National Championship, with six former USPHL players playing key roles in the title run, including a direct impact on the game-winning goal.
Hamilton erased a 1-0 deficit and secured a 2-1 overtime victory against Hobart, with the championship moment coming late in OT. After tying the game early in the second period on a goal from Luke Tchor, the Continentals battled through a tightly contested third period before delivering in sudden death.
At 16:44 of overtime, Curtiss Sturgeon scored the championship-winning goal, assisted by Luke Tchor and NCDC alumnus Zachary Walsh, sealing the national title in thrilling fashion.

The NCDC continues to serve as a direct route to college hockey, and Hamilton’s championship roster, powered in part by five NCDC alumni, is another example of that success. Combined with Danis’ Premier background, the group highlights the strength of the full USPHL ladder in preparing players for collegiate achievement.
From junior hockey to national champions, these six players helped deliver a title-clinching performance, further cementing the USPHL’s role in developing impact players on college hockey’s biggest stage.
