Sunday Highlights: Parekh and Paquette put up hat tricks in Sunday action

Erie Otters 3 at Niagara IceDogs 6

  • 2026 NHL Draft prospect Ryan Roobroeck continued his strong offensive season with his 32nd goal of the campaign. Roobroeck would also notch two assists for a three point performance
  • Erie opened the scoring with two goals across the first two periods but the IceDogs put up five in the final frame to take it 6-3
  • Sean Doherty recorded his first 3+ point game with a goal and two assists in the afternoon contest
  • Pano Fimis scored twice in the game but the Otters couldn’t find much more offence than that as their only other goal was scored by Tyler Challenger
  • Owen Flores had another busy night in goal, stopping 42 shots in the win
  • Noah Van Vliet’s fifth goal of the season stood as the game winning goal for the IceDogs

Sudbury Wolves 2 at North Bay Battalion 3

  • North Bay goaltender Jack Lisson had a first-star performance in goal, making 41 saves in the 3-2 victory
  • Seattle Kraken prospect Nathan Villeneuve hit the 20 goal mark for the second straight season with his first period goal
  • The Troops score three unanswered goals in the second and third periods to earn a come from behind victory
  • Jacob Therrien scored the game winning goal for North Bay midway through the final frame
  • San Jose Sharks prospect Quentin Musty opened the scoring on the powerplay for the Sudbury Wolves
  • Zach Wigle and Nolan Laird combined for two goals in 90 seconds to even the score in the second period for North Bay

Saginaw Spirit 7 at Ottawa 67’s 2

  • Calgary Flames prospect Zayne Parekh notched his second hat trick of the season. Parekh added an assist for a four point performance, he now has 15 points in his last five games
  • The 2024-25 Saginaw Spirit have now broken their team record for most hat tricks in a single season with ten
  • Frankie Marrelli snapped a 24 game goalless drought as he opened the scoring for Ottawa but the Spirit respond with 3 straight goals and led the 67’s 3-1 after the first period
  • NHL Draft prospect Michael Misa scored his 39th goal of the season in the game, he closes to within one of his first 40 goal season in the OHL
  • Sebastien Gervais opened the scoring short handed for the Spirit midway through the first period
  • Xander Velliaris scored his first goal of the season, making that his first goal scored since February 4th, 2024
  • Liam Storch had a two point performance including the game winning goal for the Spirit to close out the first period
  • Andrew Oke made 25 saves in goal for Saginaw and improves to 17-17-1-1 on the season

London Knights 7 at Soo Greyhounds 3

  • It was a great night for London’s defensive stars as San Jose Sharks prospect Sam Dickinson (1G, 2A), Washington Capitals prospect Cam Allen (1G, 1A), and Philadelphia Flyers prospect Oliver Bonk (1G) all played key roles in the victory
  • Knights complete the weekend sweep to earn their third straight victory and maintain first place in the OHL
  • Justin Cloutier had a two goal performance for the Soo Greyhounds with both goals assisted by Jordan Charron
  • Landon Sim (1G, 1A), Ottawa Senators prospect Blake Montgomery (1G, 1A), and NHL Draft prospect Henry Brzustewicz (2A) also contributed to a large margin of victory for London
  • Austin Elliott maintains his undefeated record this season, earning his 20th straight victory as he made 25 saves

Brampton Steelheads 3 at Windsor Spitfires 5

  • Capitals prospect Ilya Protas scored two incredible goals for the Windsor Spitfires including the game winning goal as he reaches the 32 goal mark on the season, Protas also added an assist on Greentree’s goal for a three point game
  • LA Kings prospect Liam Greentree with a three point performance as he scored a goal and notched two assists
  • Tnias Mathurin had three assists in the game for the first 3+ point game of his OHL career
  • Carter Froggett stopped 23 shots for his first win since December 13, 2024
  • Lucas Karmiris and Seattle Kraken prospect Carson Rehkopf scored to end the second period in a tie game for the Steelheads, but they would ultimately fall 5-3 in this one

Guelph Storm 6 at Oshawa Generals 1

  • Charlie Paquette notched his first career hat trick an added an assist for a four point performance to help his Guelph Storm win a critical game on the road
  • Winnipeg Jets prospect Colby Barlow scored the lone goal of the game for the Gens, his 27th goal of the season extended his point streak to nine games
  • Parker Snelgrove had a two point performance with a goal and an assist on Hunter McKenzie’s game winning goal
  • NHL Draft prospect Quinn Beauchesne also has a two point performance as he had two assists for the Storm
  • Guelph rookie goalie Colin Ellsworth had a phenomenal game for the Storm as he stopped 38 shots for his second win of the campaign
