Beginning at Midnight on September 6th, 2021 all United States citizens will be banned from traveling to Sweden even if fully vaccinated.
Yes. Even if fully vaccinated.
The travel bans are beginning and this will not be the last.
The United States has been labeled as “not recommended for travel” by the entire European Union. While it is still possible to travel to some countries and if you have proper documentation, being fully vaccinated and other documents, it is still possible to travel for now.
More countries are preparing for travel bans as the weather changes from summer to fall. You can expect a month from now that United States citizens will be banned from nearly all of Europe once again regardless of vaccination status.
Sweden to Ban Travel From US & 5 Other Third-Countries From September 6 – SchengenVisaInfo.com
Starting from September 6, only travellers reaching Sweden for absolutely essential purposes can enter from the US, Israel, Lebanon, and three Western Balkan countries, Kosovo, Montenegro and North Macedonia. Essential purposes include holders of Swedish residence permits, travellers who carry out essential purposes, travellers in transit, healthcare workers, researchers in health and medical care and elderly staff, etc.
Hockey? Not essential under the guidelines, and those players not already in Sweden will not be getting into Sweden.
