The Death Pool – EOJHL Kicks Out Brockville Bulldogs Formerly Brockville Tikis

Money talks. The Brockville Bulldogs, formerly the Brockville Tikis, were announced as being sold a short time ago after undergoing the rebranding.

Having the team sold is great, well, its great when the new owner actually pays for the franchise that is. And it looks like the new owner never paid for what he bought.

Scott Murray, a local Brockville entrepreneur, was out in front of the media in early May of this year, saying “We want the Bulldogs to be a symbol of pride, teamwork, and resilience — both on and off the ice.”

The organization under Murray, and “Managing Director” Angus Miron, went so far as to participate in the EOGHL draft this spring. Picking seven players, two having been developed locally.

“The Bulldogs’ selections reflect a strong mix of local and regional talent, with a focus on skill, work ethic, and potential,” said Miron. “Additional signings are expected in the coming weeks as the team prepares for its debut season.”

So now what do these players do? What happens to their rights? What about all the other players the “team” may have signed while forgetting to sign the check for purchse? The league has said nothing aboout the players who have been effected.

Now the EOJHL is also trying to scrub or eliminate any mention of the Bulldogs, and Scott Murray from their website. Apparently they forgot about social media though where on April 25th, 2025, the following was said:

“The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL) is thrilled to announce the return of Junior B hockey to the city of Brockville for the 2025-26 season. After a two-year hiatus, the franchise has officially been sold to new owner Scott Murray, who will relaunch the team under a bold new identity — the Brockville Bulldogs.

“The return of the EOJHL to Brockville is a significant moment for our league and the community,” said EOJHL Commissioner Marc Franche. “This region has a proud and rich tradition in junior hockey, and we’re excited to see that legacy continue with the Brockville Bulldogs.”

All of this is very strange. When a league announces the sale of a team, then it is presumed that the league has done its due dilligence, and the payment has cleared. How do things get to June, before anyone takes action on something that has clearly been going on for months?

The beginning of silly season 2025, has officially arrived.
