Disaster is the best word to describe the GMHL. Its a joke. Its an embarrassment to hockey, and it all starts with the people operating the league being some of the biggest ass clowns in hockey history.
How the hell do the Tillsonburg Hurricanes fold in the semifinals? Seriously a team just disappears in the semi finals? The league lets this happen? The rest of the teams in the league let this happen?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hockey is a business I get it. But when you’re down to the final four teams shouldn’t someone step in and make sure the playoffs actually look like they had integrity? No. Not if you’re the GMHL.
There’s no integrity to the worlds largest shit show the GMHL.
Bringing franchises back to life from the dead year after year is what this league does. Selling franchises to clearly non qualified hockey owners and people with not enough money yo operate is how these clowns do business.
Anyone with money and a pulse can step up and have a team in the GMHL. And parents keep sending players and paying the bills. Holy shit are some people desperate.
Tillsonburg is more of the same unfulfilled promises of equipment and other amenities. Tillsonburg is more of the team trying to bilk more money from players families after they already paid.
But the real story is not all the background on Tillsonburg and the shit show operated by the owner and the league. The real story is how they folded.
After the owner was trying to throw the series to not have to cover road game costs, the players all walked.
That’s right, the players finally pulled their heads out of their asses and walked away from this shit show. Something every GMHL player should do if he wants to be a legitimate prospect some day.
So lets hear a sincere round of applause for the players. Its about time.
