The Death Pool – RIP Berkley Bruins

Yea though i walk through the shadow of legitimate Tier III junior hockey teams I will fear no negative bank account balance. Ha Ha Ha

Happy Monday kids.  Well, not such a happy Monday for the Berkley Bruins, or their former players for that matter.  That’s right folks, the Berkley Bruins went on to meet their maker on Friday the 14th.  Just one day shy of the annual hunting season opener in Michigan.

While no official statement has been made by the Bruins or the MWJHL, this team is toast.  And I am not talking about a good form of toast some of you may be having this morning.

Multiple reports are saying that the Bruins are blaming the players not paying tuition for their failure.  But hey, who owns a junior team without the money to operate it anyway?  Ummmmmmm yeah, well most people with half a brain don’t get into the business without the money to operate the team, but then again this is Tier III isn’t it?

So yeah, allegedly all the players that weren’t paid to date, were put on AAU financial suspension, and then they couldn’t put enough players on the ice to play their games this weekend.

Bang up job boys.  Way to screw the team you were supposed to play out of their home dates, and to screw the league out of their balanced schedule too.

But hey its not like the MWJHL is going to miss a winning team or anything.  Last year these ass clowns went a whopping 11-30-0-1 and this year before the two forfeits this weekend they were an astounding 5 and 12.

What happens to the eight kids who weren’t screwed in this deal?  Who knows?  But eight players are now looking for new teams.  The rest of them are completely screwed because they cant go to any other AAU team while on financial suspension, and most of them aren’t good enough to make a legitimate Tier III team.

So hey, the MWJHL now has 7 teams to re-schedule the bulk of the season with.  Rumor has it the league still wants someone to go into Berkley, but you would have to ask why.  I mean its not exactly like they have a model for success there.  You would think someone would recognize that Detroit is just a little over saturated in the junior hockey department.

But hey, stay tuned kids, we may have a special report or two on the way…..
