Hey kids, its another beautiful day here in the intensive care unit. Just hanging out and drinking coffee and munching on some Timmy Hortons, yep everything is tasting just right. I hate getting all that powdered sugar on the front of my shirt though. Maybe I need to stick with something with more of a glazed coating.
Apparently though my coffee and doughnuts wouldn’t taste quite as good as a little booze while cruising around town. Maybe I should ask Brandon Vuic from the QMJHL’s Halifax Mooseheads how its done.
Speaking of a glazed coating, you know, like the kind you have when you’re puddled drunk before you jump in the car but you cant see well enough in the mirror to see your eyes are glazed. Ummmmmmm yeah, not sure where I was going with that one, but back to the powdered doughnuts……
Maybe young Vuic likes those too. I mean either that or he has a job at the local bakery because now he is also under investigation for “dumping a white powder” onto a lawn when he was talking to the cops about the parked car he had just smashed into!
Yep, the cops are now saying they believe is was cocaine. Can you believe it?
Now charged with impaired driving and under investigation for the “white powder”, this brain surgeon can kiss the very limited hockey career he might have had away.
You have to wonder what this non point producing forward was thinking. As if there aren’t enough stories of stupid athletes in the news these days, the marginal player makes himself a story. Mom and dad must be so proud.
So all you idiots out there drinking and driving, and the other idiots out there still using illegal drugs, keep it up. One day you will kill someone else or yourself and then maybe people might realize how stupid this type of thing is.
There is no place for this in sports. Society has said its a crime, and its time to stop giving athletes like this a pass.
But hey, the team has talked to him and the other players about it. Yep, maybe you should have worked on prevention before the intervention. How about banning any player in this type of situation for at least a full season and forcing them to complete a minimum six month in patient treatment program before he can apply for re-instatement?
No? Well then just sign yourself up for more of this. Until the penalties of having athletes like this outweigh the upside nothing will change. Maybe this is an isolated incident, I am sure that will come out later. But if examples aren’t made, how can anyone expect this type of behavior to stop?
