The Death Pool – Special Report – GOJHL Denied Junior A Or Tier II Status – Whats Next?

Ummmmmmm yeah, so the inevitable news was delivered to the GOJHL on Friday.  That’s right, it was inevitable, and everyone in the GOJHL, OHA, OHF, ABCDEFGHIJKLM alphabet soup of red tape employing bureaucrats knew it was inevitable that the GOJHL application for Junior A or Tier II would be denied.

Oh yeah, ok, now all you koolaid drinking, love sick people in Canada who think this wasn’t a pre determined fact can send me all the hate mail you want.

We said it.  We told you a long time ago it would be denied.  We told you why.  We told you that the GOJHL was prepared for it too.

Why else would people from the GOJHL say to us in person “We are going to be Tier II in 2017 one way or another.”  Yeah and this wasn’t some equipment manager making the statement either.

So what now?  Will the GOJHL leave the confines of Hockey Canada?

Well, if they got any balls at all they do.  That’s right boys, time to stand up and do what you said you were going to do.  Don’t turtle now.

What kind of idiot would stand for this kind of treatment?  Seriously.  If people don’t know that half the GOJHL is better than a lot of the OJHL teams then some people haven’t watched a hockey game lately.  Sorry OJHL guys, but you got yourself some pretty weak recruiters.

Why wouldn’t the GOJHL be granted Junior A or Tier II status?  That answer is simple.  There are several reasons, and none of them have anything to do with how good the level of play is.

See in Hockey Canada, there is this thing called an E-108.  Yeah, a thing any Junior A team can use to take a player from a Junior B team for the low low cost of $750 bucks.  Yeah, without that, a lot of Junior A teams actually have to go out and recruit players.

And ummmmmm the OJHL has a back room deal saying they will be the only Junior A league in Southern Ontario.  You know, like one that no one knew about until 2014.  One that obligates other owners in other leagues to contract terms they never even signed on for or knew existed.  In the United States that’s called a critical failure to disclose information that would impact a purchasing decision.

So, do the GOJHL boys have the balls?  That’s the question now.  If they do, the OJHL is in trouble, in fact all Junior A in Canada is in trouble.  Once the import player door opens in a legitimate league like the GOJHL, and you see the Europeans come over that Junior A has lobbied for, the GOJHL will become a destination league almost immediately.

This shit is about to get fun.  Stay tuned hockey fans, cause if you like an old school fight, the OHA just speared the GOJHL in the nuts and someone may retaliate.
