In ten days, one hundred and eighty of the top AAA, Prep, High School, and current junior players will descend on L.C. Walker Arena in Muskegon Michigan.
With players attending from the United States, Canada, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, and England, all of the large hockey development countries are represented. Many of these players have already represented their countries in international competitions.
The Pre Draft Combine will see these young men undergoing a proprietary battery of on and off ice testing on Thursday May 18th. Goaltenders will take the ice for their group sessions in the evening of the 18th as well.
Games will be played beginning at 8:00 AM on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and will conclude with an All Star game on Sunday May 21st at 3:30 PM.
“We are looking forward to another successful year. There are a lot of very talented young men coming to Muskegon at various stages of their careers. There are players looking for additional AAA opportunities, as well as Junior Hockey opportunities.” Said Joseph Kolodziej CEO of parent company Hockey Holdings Group
“Our organizational team members will arrive earlier in the week to prepare for what has traditionally been an exciting and informative event. We have some new additions to the company who will be taking on larger roles as we continue to grow, and I am looking forward to watching their interactions with scouts and players alike. This event really is about the scouts and the players, creating opportunity for everyone to come together and wrap up the recruiting process in late spring. Its not uncommon for the majority of players attending to sign or make a commitment for next season while in Muskegon.”
The Pre Draft Combine will be announcing dates and locations for the 2018 Combine series of events the first week of June.
