Thursday Highlights: Epperson’s three point night lifts Spirit to victory

  • Kristian Epperson scored two goals in the third period, including the game-winner to solidify this one for the Spirit. He also assisted the opening goal by Zayne Parekh.
  • Calgary Flames prospect Zayne Parekh buried one in the first period after a feed from Michael Misa, giving the Spirit an early lead.
  • The 67’s responded in the second period, with Nathan Amidovski and Brady Stonehouse both scoring to tie it up.
  • Kaleb Papineau made 22 saves on 24 shots in the win.

Kitchener Rangers 2 at Brantford Bulldogs 1 OT

  • A third period goal by Max Dirracolo sent this one to overtime, where Jack Pridham won it for the Rangers.
  • Marek Vanacker opened the scoring for the Bulldogs in the first frame.
  • Jackson Parsons made 27 saves on 28 shots in the win, while Ryerson Leenders had a 29/31 save performance at the other end of the ice.

Sudbury Wolves 4 at Barrie Colts 1

  • Kocha Delic had a solid start for the Wolves, scoring two in the first frame to secure an advantage for Sudbury. They held onto this lead until the final buzzer.
  • Riley Patterson got the Colts on the board in the first period, but this proved to be their only tally of the night.
  • Nate Krawchuk made 40 saves on 41 shots in the big win.

Peterborough Petes 1 at North Bay Battalion 4

  • The Battalion’s special teams were unstoppable in this one, scoring two shorthanded and one on the powerplay to win it.
  • Nick Wellenreiter scored a pair for the Battalion in the win.
  • Gavin Bryant got the Petes on the board in the second period.

Guelph Storm 5 at Windsor Spitfires 9

  • This one was an offensive explosion for the Spitfires tallying nine on the night.
  • The Storm didn’t let the Spits momentum bother them, going on to score 5 but coming short in overcoming the hefty lead.
  • Ilya Protas came out hot, scoring a hat-trick within the first period of play to give the Spitfires the advantage going into the second.
  • Liam Greentree and Ryan Abraham both celebrate four point nights.
