Potomac Patriots 5, Charlotte Rush 4 (OT)
The Potomac Patriots’ Dominykas Jurjevas scored at the 18:48 mark of overtime to keep the Pats’ season alive. The Patriots advance in the double elimination tournament, while the Rush’s Elite season has ended. The Patriots will face the Hampton Roads Whalers on Monday in a win-or-go-home battle, with the winner moving on to the championship round against Carolina.
Damon Mackling scored twice for the Patriots. Kayden Suy scored to put the Pats up just over a minute before regulation, but Charlotte’s Temirlan Aiboluly sent the game to OT with 42 seconds left in regulation.
Metro Jets 10, Decatur Blaze 1
The Metro Jets’ Tyler Dix scored the GWG as one of three players with two goals, a group that also included Jarrett LaGrow and Owen Coulter. Landon Graham put up a 1-3-4 line to lead the team offensively. The Jets lead the series 1-0 with Game 2 set for 12 p.m. EST Monday.
Carolina Jr. Hurricanes 6, Hampton Roads Whalers 0
The Jr. Canes are moving on to the Elite Southeast Division championships after defeating the Hampton Roads Whalers, 6-0. Owen Nasholds made 25 saves for the shutout, Liam Geyer, Christopher Zwirblia, Arsenii Abakumov and Brady Piscitelli each had two assists.
