USPHL Premier 2023-24 South Region Players Of The Week

Games of Oct. 17-23, 2023

 

Forward: Jared Salminen, Florida Eels

Salminen (‘03/Port Charlotte, Fla.) had himself quite the weekend in the sweep against the Florida Jr. Blades, posting a pair of goals and adding three assists, his third string of five points in two games this season. The four-year Premier veteran currently has 22 points in 13 games this season, and 109 points in 137 career games. 

 

Defense: Christopher Maybury, Palm Beach Typhoon 

Maybury, an ‘04 from Jacksonville, has certainly been producing in his third USPHL season and first with the Premier Typhoon. He posted three assists in a 6-2 victory against the Florida Jr. Blades recently. The former USPHL Elite Florida Division All-Star from last season has skated in 94 career regular season games, all with the Typhoon. 

 

Goaltender: Aiden Winslow, Bold City Battalion 

Winslow (‘03/Jacksonville, Fla.) put together a 22-save victory against the Tampa Bay Juniors on Oct. 20, giving him a 4-2-0-0 record with a .942 save percentage on the season so far. 

 

Southeast Division 

Forward: Siamion Marshchanok, Potomac Patriots 

You can’t keep a good player down, and Marshchanok (‘05/Minsk, Belarus) has been on fire since Day 1 of the season, registering multiple points in 13 of his 16 games. Most recently, he ripped through three goals and three assists for six points in a sweep weekend over Hampton Roads. He currently has 44 points in 16 games, and he and his brother Matsvei Marshchanok – also on the Patriots – signed an NCDC tender for 2024-25 with the Pueblo Bulls. 

 

Defense: Carson Beattie, Charlotte Rush 

Beattie (‘03/White Lake, Mich.) had a goal and four assists for five points and he was a +5 over the weekend series against Columbia Infantry, which was swept by Charlotte. The second-year Premier veteran has 31 points in 50 games. 

 

Goaltender: Andris Zalmanis, Carolina Jr. Hurricanes 

Zalmanis (‘04/Riga, Latvia) posted a 27-save shutout on Oct. 21 against Richmond, continuing his great play in his first North American season. He is 4-2-0-0 with a .913 save percentage thus far on the season.
