Forward: Matsvei Marshchanok, Potomac Patriots
Marshchanok (‘05/Minsk, Belarus) scored 12 goals and added 10 assists for 22 points in one of December’s biggest performances league-wide for the month. He has pulled up to almost a goal per game for his career, with 45 through 46 games played and he’s already just seven points shy of 100 in his young career. He started the month with two five-point games, which were on the heels of two five-goal games to close November. He also posted 12 points in four USPHL Florida College Showcase.
Forward: Siamion Marshchanok, Potomac Patriots
Matsvei Marshchanok’s twin brother Siamion has hit the 93-point mark for the season to take the league lead, thanks to posting six goals and 14 assists for 20 points. During the month, Siamion posted four four-point games, two in a row twice. Additionally, he won 73 out of 102 faceoffs for a 73 percent success rate and his +11 was second only to Matsvei’s +13.
Forward: Zach Nicholls, Charlotte Rush
Nicholls (‘03/Chestermere, Alb.) put up five goals and five assists for 10 points in eight games as the Rush have put together a strong past 10 games, going 8-1-1-0, including an active 4-0 streak heading into 2024. Nicholls, a three-year USPHL Premier veteran, improved to 36 points in 28 games this year and 114 points in 114 career games.
Defense: Keaton Toenjes, Carolina Jr. Hurricanes
Toenjes (‘03/Gilbert, Ariz.) was outstanding for the Jr. Hurricanes, who are 7-3 in their last 10 games, which helps them maintain a healthy top three spot in the always tough Southeast. He registered 10 assists over his six December games, giving him 32 points in 27 games in this, his second season with Carolina. Toenjes now has 32 points in 27 games this season and 56 points in 71 career games.
Defense: Aidan Moreau, Potomac Patriots
Moreau (‘03/Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) has nearly bypassed his points total from the prior two seasons combined as the third-year Premier defenseman now has 23 points in 30 games (versus 25 points in his previous 75 games from 2021 to 2023). This past month, Moreau posted a 3-6-9 line and also led the Patriots defense with a +8 rating. A physical player, his 7 hits led the team and his 11 blocked shots were also tops for the Patriots.
Goaltender: Devin Stephens, Charlotte Rush
Stephens (‘03/Trenton, Mich.) returned to the Rush in December and picked up right from where he left off last year, going 4-1-0-0 with 156 saves on 164 shots over his 300 minutes of action, good for a .951 save percentage. He also registered a 41-save shutout against the league-leading Potomac Patriots in just his second game back from earlier season NCDC action with the Boston Junior Bruins, for whom he posted an impressive .912 for that level. Stephens is now 13-2-0-1 with a .954 Premier career save percentage.
