USPHL Premier Players Of The Month – January 2023: Great Lakes Division

Forwards 

Jacob Slater, Toledo Cherokee

Since joining the team back in November Slater has been a key to the offense for the Cherokee and continued that in January. The forward for Toledo played in 11 games in January, in which month he had nine goals and 16 assists leading the division in points and points per game at 2.27. Going into the last month of the regular season, Slater has 17 goals and 50 points.

 

Nicklas Millhorn, Toledo Cherokee

January was also an awesome month for Cherokee forward Nicklas Millhorn. To start, he played in 11 games, leading his team in goals for the month at 10, and he added 11 assists for 21 points. Millhorn made sure things were happening on the offensive end getting 11 assists and averaging 1.91 points per game. He is 10th in league scoring with 73 points in 37 games. 

 

Andreas Fleutot, Metro Jets

Fleutot has been a key contributor to the Jets offensive success far this year. In January, he played in eight games, scoring seven goals and getting 13 points to help the Jets to finish off January with a 6-3 record. One of these victories was a big win in the Tampa showcase against the Florida Eels where Fleutot had a goal and an assist. He has 52 points in 32 games, and 127 points in 73 games.

 

Defense

Ryan Stanley, Toledo Cherokee

In his second year with the Cherokee, Stanley continues to be a strong player for Toledo. In the 11 games, Toledo played last month he had four goals and nine assists and also was a +17 helping the Cherokee to their 9-2 record for the month. Stanley is ninth in league scoring with 47 points. 

 

Josh German, Metro Jets

In the nine games, Metro played in January German made sure to show his abilities on both ends of the ice. He had three goals and six assists in the nine games Metro played for the month, crossing the career 100-point mark along the way. German also finished the month off as a +3. German’s 141 career games puts him at eighth among active players in that category. He is one single point away from his 100th. 

 

Goaltender

Frederick Soderberg, Metro Jets

The Metro Jets can thank a lot of their success this season to goalie Frederick Soderberg. In the 180 minutes he played in January he made 92 saves on the 99 shots he faced and went 2-1 with a .929 save percentage. Soderberg currently has a record of 8-4 this season, and he has a .921 save percentage over the 38 games in his Premier career split between the MJDP and Jets.
