USPHL Premier Players Of The Week: Northeast Region

Atlantic Division

Forward: Anthony Rizzi, Brooklyn Aviators 

Rizzi (‘04/Montreal) registered six points for the Aviators in three games this week, including three goals. He has 31 points in his first Premier season, with 15 goals and 16 assists across 24 games. He is the leading scorer for the Aviators this season. 

 

Defense: Brandon Jung, Elmira Impact 

Jung (‘04/Ann Arbor, Mich.) posted two goals and two assists for Elmira on Dec. 21, adding to his season point tally of 27 and boosting him to be the highest-scoring blueliner for the franchise. In his second Premier season, Jung has 35 points across 48 games. 

 

Goaltender: Daxton Lucidi, Mercer Chiefs 

Lucidi (‘05/Trenton, Mich.) went 2-0 with a .966 save percentage this week, making 56 saves on 58 shots for a 1.00 goals against average. He is 6-2-0-0 in his first Premier season, with a .954 save percentage with one shutout.

New England Division

Forward: Scott Allan, Islanders Hockey Club 

Allan (‘05/Pittsburgh, Penn.) was a key player in helping the Islanders win both games this week, with three goals and three assists, boosting his season points to 20. In his first Premier season, Allan has played 21 games and has three game-winning goals to his name. 

 

Defense: Cameron Gardiner, Utica Jr. Comets 

Gardiner (‘04/Tilbury, Ont.) scored three goals, including two on Dec. 21 to help Utica go 3-1 this week. The blueliner is playing his third season in the Premier League with 79 games and 36 career points under his belt. This is his second season playing with Utica. 

 

Goaltender: Matthew Dore, South Shore Kings 

Dore (‘04/Dartmouth, Mass.) helped the South Shore Kings continue a four-game win streak, going 2-0 in his two appearances this week for a .956 save percentage. He made 43 saves on 45 shots and garnered a 1.00 goals against average. He is 12-1-0-1 in his second season with the Kings and has a .939 season save percentage. 

Selection Process: Divisional statistical leaders are presented to coaches, who are able to vote on the leaders, or nominate and vote on alternate candidates.
