USPHL Premier Players Of The Week: South Region

Southeast Division 

Forward: Yovanni Flores, Potomac Patriots 

Flores (‘05/Los Angeles, Calif.) put up a pair of goals and added one assist as the Patriots split with the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes, including the Nov. 2 game-winner, his third of the season and it also matched his GWG total for all of 2023-24. 

 

Defense: Alec Pool, Carolina Jr. Hurricanes 

A third-year junior veteran, Pool (‘04/Monrovia, Calif.) put up a goal and added two assists during the Jr. Canes’ November-opening weekend split against Potomac. He has 10 points in 16 games this season and 60 points for his 88-game career in regular season games. 

 

Goaltender: Dylan Rempel, Carolina Jr. Hurricanes

Rempel (‘05/Chilliwack, B.C.) picked up his second win in his last four games, defeating Potomac 4-1 on Nov. 3. He made 28 saves on 29 shots, and he’s stopped 60 of 63 over his last two contests against the Patriots. 

 

Florida Division

Forward: Augie Ashley, Tampa Bay Juniors

Ashley (‘04/Falmouth, N.S.) continued his hot play that saw him named a Florida Forward Of The Month, as he put up a 2-4-6 line in two wins against the Bold City Battalion to kick off November. He has 19 points in 13 games this year, and 56 points in 57 career regular season games. 

 

Defense: Ian Dracoulis, Florida Eels

Dracoulis (‘04/Chesterfield, Va.) had two goals including the GWG against the Florida Jr. Blades on Oct. 30, then added another assist on Nov. 2 for three points in three games. A former USPHL Elite standout who won a championship with the 2022 Richmond Generals in that conference, Dracoulis now has seven points in 12 Premier games this year. Since 2020, he has played in a combined 158 regular season Elite and Premier games. 

 

Goaltender: Elliot Yu, Palm Beach Typhoon

In just his second start with the Typhoon, Yu (‘05/Woodstock, Ont.) had a fantastic showing with a win against the Florida Jr. Blades, in which he stopped 43 of 44 shots. Yu evened up his record at 1-1 for the season.
