Seattle Totems vs. Bellingham Blazers

Bellingham Blazers earned their first win against the Seattle Totems in 2019-2020 on Wednesday of last week. The Blazers previous showings at Olympicview Arena did not indicate anything positive but a pair of second period goals gave Bellingham a six-point cushion in the standings.
Bellingham’s Milo Schneidmiller had the only goal in the first period, but it was Jovan Budial’s goal at 13:49 of the second that turned out to be the game-winner. Seattle pressured in the Blazer zone outshooting Bellingham 23 to 17 in the first two periods.
Javin Billings scored at 4:59 of the second to make it 3-0 for Bellingham. The Totems had an entire third period to try and gain on Bellingham but it was the lowest producing frame as far as shots. With only seven shots, Seattle could only convert on Cory Kane’s bid at 18:36 of the third.

The El Paso Rhinos cruised to a sweep of the Wichita Jr. Thunder. Oliver Soovik earned two of the three shutouts while Sawyer Schmidt secured the shutout in Game 3.
Sam Sykes was a menace for the Rhinos playing to two hat-tricks in the series. Sykes scored a hat-trick in Game 1 and then scored four goals in Game 3. He completes three consecutive games with multiple points as he registered two helpers in Game 2.
The Rhinos were quick to build a considerable lead including an insurmountable 7-0 margin in the opening period of Game 3. El Paso improves to 62-points and leads the Midwest-Mountain Division by 15-points having won their last four.
Wichita has now lost their previous three games since defeating the Steamboat Wranglers two weekends ago.
Pueblo Bulls vs. Oklahoma City Blazers

Matej Hajek’s pair of third period goals broke the deadlock lifting the Blazers over the Bulls who controlled a good portion of the tilt. The Bulls outshot the Blazers 43 to 31 but Joel Svensson’s 40 saves suppressed Pueblo’s chances.
Pueblo’s Wyatt Andres erased the two-goal deficit when he tied the game with two seconds remaining in the second period. The late-frame goal didn’t do much to deflate Oklahoma City as it didn’t take long for Hajek to get to work in the third.
Hajek found the game-winner at 16:54 of the third and added a fourth goal, his second of the night, at 11:55 to make it 4-2.
Andres also had two goals in the game on the Bull’s final tally at 4:43.
Pueblo Bulls 3, Oklahoma City Blazers 4

Matej Hajek played hero for the second time in as many games giving the Blazers their second lead of the night and scoring two goals. Trent Sheldon was the main protagonist for Oklahoma sinking the game-winner late in the third.
The Blazers took advantage of their special teams units scoring on two power play goals and one short-handed goal.
Pueblo almost always has an answer when down in the score. As they did in Game 1 of the weekend, Pueblo was forced to come-from-behind and successfully did so on their tying goal. Dallas Hainley tied it 2-2 at 4:43 of the second after Milan Breczko got them rolling just moments before at 15:05.
Hajek regained the lead for the Blazers at 13:36 of the middle period, but then the Blazers were assessed a penalty. The Bulls capitalized on the man advantage to tie it up 3-3 at 9:03.
The third period in this one was very even although it was the Blazers who won it with a goal from Sheldon.

A hat-trick from Andrei Vasile that started in the second and peaked in the third completed the weekend sweep of the Bulls.
Matej Hajek is present with a goal for the third straight game getting the scoring started in Game 3 at 17:73 of the first frame. Brigham Neuhold also scored to make it 2-0, his first goal in two games.
Oklahoma City didn’t get the usual response from the Bulls as they reached the 4-0 lead starting the third frame. Pueblo’s leading goal scorer, Ondrej Blaha, had their only goal at 13:45 of the final stanza.
Joel Svensson made 25 of 26 saves to hold off the Bulls who really pressured in the third.
Utah Outliers vs. Ogden Mustangs

The Ogden Mustang 20-game undefeated streak came to an end on Friday against their instate and divisional rival, Utah Outliers. Three power play goals separated the Outliers from the Mustangs who, for the first time all year, were down by multiple goals.
Ogden pressed in the final moments of the game as they managed to get within one goal of sending it to overtime. A goal from Zach Pires at 5:27 and Bryson Bartell at 1:27 cut the Utah lead to 4-3 making the final minute of play an exciting one.
Oscar Wahlgren made 35 of 38 saves in what is a major win for the Outliers, who haven’t defeated Ogden since Game 2 of the 2018-2019 Mountain Division Finals.
Joshua Harrell’s goal at 8:54 of the third stanza made it 4-1 and was credited as the game-winner. Ogden was blanked in the first period but Lucas Vacin found their first goal midway through the second period.
Ogden Mustangs 4, Utah Outliers 2

Although the Mustangs had their overall record snapped, they can still be satisfied in improving their undefeated home record to eight wins. Lucas Vacin scored a natural hat-trick and registered one assist to get the Mustangs back on the win column.
It was the second leg of the home-and-series and the Ice Sheet was treated to a four-goal lead before Ogden conceded. Vacin connected on three straight opportunities at 13:59 and 8:12 of the first, then followed with his third at 18:56 of the middle stanza.
A power play goal by Caleb Dolman made it 4-0 and the Outliers just didn’t have the same jump from Friday.
Nikita Andrusenko and Ben Doherty each scored but Travis Allen, of Ogden, closed-up shop after letting in two goals.
Ogden remains well in first place in the division and league while the Outliers are perched at second place in the division.
Cold Lake Hornets vs. Barrhead Bombers

The Cold Lake Hornets kept the momentum from last weekend going. After pulling a Provincial Division upset against the Timberwolves, the Hornets earn another win against the Barrhead Bombers.
The Hornets have won four of the last six games and seem to be finding wins more frequently. Yauheni Lavrov registered five points including two goals and led all skaters. Three additional players for Cold Lake found goals to defeat Barrhead.
The Bombers started the season with two steep victories over Cold Lake but have dropped their last two games against the Hornets, including Game 2 of this series.
Dmitro Kobylnyk and Stran Backfat Redcrow had the two snipes for Barrhead in the second and third periods.
Cold Lake Hornets vs. Edson Aeros

Sebastian Heden registered nine points including a hat-trick, Maverick Baxtrom, and Quentin Stempfel also scored hat-tricks to overpower the surging Hornets.
Edson added to their undefeated home record reaching 10 wins so far, and are also owners of the longest active win streak with 16 straight wins—after Ogden lost.
Edson’s win streak has done wonders for them as they are only behind first place, Hinton, by three points and with three less games.
Barrhead Bombers vs. Meadow Lake Mustangs

The Barrhead Bombers broke their 10 game winless streak with a convincing victory over the Meadow Lake Mustangs at the Barrhead Agrena.
The Bombers hadn’t won since defeating Cold Lake Oct. 19. Wassim Saidani netted two goals to head his team while five other Bombers were responsible for the remaining tallies. Saidani had two of the three goals in the first period and the Bombers added three more to take the commanding 6-0 lead going into the third.
Meadow Lake’s Jimi Belleom-Weiis found the first goal for the Mustangs at 5:36 of the third.
The Mustangs were starting to turn the page for better as they had the third spot on lock. Barrhead stole the win, putting Meadow Lake ahead by only three points.
Barrhead Bombers vs. Hinton Timberwolves

Jamahl Eakett’s five-point game stands out for the Hinton Timberwolves who are back on the win column earning the victory in their only game of the weekend.
Four additional skaters scored for Hinton and the Bombers had contribution from Wassim Saidani.
Hinton established a strong foothold in the game during the first and second periods as Eakett found two of his three goals. Connor Kowalchuk scored the game’s first goal and Dawson Basnett made it 3-0 to open the second period.
Adam Robertson made 23 of 24 saves to backstop the Timberwolves to their 18th win of the season.
Edson Aeros vs. Meadow Lake Mustangs

The Edson Aeros scored at least 10 goals for the second consecutive game and are now the highest scoring team in the Provincial Division.
Maverick Baxtrom scored twice but Brian Bailer led all skaters with five points to stifle the Mustangs at Repsol Place. Edson converted on three power play goals and two short-handed bids to reach the double-digit score.
The depleted Mustangs squad could only count on Erik Ehrmantruat and Jarrod Kotchea for two goals.
Fresno Monsters vs. Ontario Avalanche

The last time Fresno took to Anaheim Ice and faced the Ontario Avalanche they potted seven goals past them. This time around, the Avalanche dished the seven-goal blow to avenge that prior loss from Oct. 20.
Quinn Deshler reeled in four points and scored a goal on the power play while an additional six players scored for Ontario.
Narek Aleksanyan got the Monsters off on the right track when he scored the first goal of the game at 18:00 of the first period. The Monsters entertained the idea of a two goal lead as they proceeded to outshot the Av’s in the first, however, Ontario opted for the game tying goal at 7:23.
Ontario scored three goals in the second period started by Deshler, Eric Moran, and Tanneer Turcotte. The 4-1 lead was almost too comfortable though and the Monsters caught Ontario sleeping on two occasions to make it a 4-3 game in the third.
Gabel Longshore inspired three more Ontario goals in the third frame to essentially send the game home.
Fresno Monsters 3(OT), Ontario Avalanche 2

Zackory Turpin’s overtime goal at 3:59 denied the Avalanche a second straight win. The Monsters had to start from behind but were able to gain another win to remain in first place of the Western Division by six points.
Three different goal scorers helped the Monsters turn their previous loss around and are now 2-1 against Ontario in the season.
Gabel Longshore sent the game to overtime after the Avalanche let an initial lead slip. Longshore had the lone goal in the third frame while William Markstedt of Fresno, had the single goal in the second.
Jackson Bauml commenced the comeback for the Monsters at 4:43 of the first period after the Avalanche lit the lamp early.
Fresno will make its return to Selland Arena starting next week when they host the Southern Oregon Spartans.
Ontario Avalanche vs. San Diego Sabers

Ontario tied the game three different times as Jack Davenport and Gabel Longshore scored twice each to outdo the Sabers at Anaheim Ice.
Five more Ontario players had multiple points in the valiant effort while San Diego saw goals from five individual players.
The San Diego Sabers were no easy task for the Avalanche whose largest deficit was 5-2, late in the second period.
The Avalanche managed perhaps their best period of the season when facing a deficit. They scored five goals in the third period to overtake the score and put the Sabers back on their heels.
Ontario skated to its seventh home win and are now just one point behind second place Las Vegas Thunderbirds.
