While I fully support President Trump balancing trade with all countries, the business of hockey equipment is going to be effected immediately. And thats not good news for American families who have already seen rediculous price increases from manufacturers over the years.
In two days, all hockey equipment not made in the US is going to become 25% more expensive. The short term solution to this is go and buy what you need today and tomorrow because we dont know how long this trade war is going to last.
Fortunately, there are a lot of smaller start up stick companies based in the US. Now, it remains to be seen if those sticks are all manufactured in the US or not.
Bauer, CCM and others are either manufacured in Canada or China. Both of those countries are getting hit with the new tariffs on Wednesday. So, stock up, or prepare to pay more.
